With 24x hot-swap storge bays up front plus support for up to 20x single-width GPUs, the Supermicro GPU SuperServer 6049GP-TRT delivers plenty of performance for AI, machine learning, and big data analytics. 2x 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable CPUs can provide up to 6TB – 9TB of memory in 24x DIMM slots using DRAM or a combination with Intel Optane data centric persistent memory modules (DCPMM).
With up to 20 Nvidia T4 GPUs supported, the Supermicro GPU SuperServer 6049GP-TRT is a match for any high-performance computing applications. This dual socket system also excels at video transcoding and for use in clinical setting like the Research Laboratory and National Laboratory. With first- and second-generation CPUs it delivers PCIe 3.0 bandwidth for I/O and expansion options. This platform offers hybrid storage with 24x drive bays, 2x of which are NVMe, standard. Using add on cards the system will support up to 8x NVMe storage devices. There are 2000W Titanium level, redundant power supply units (PSU) on this system.
1st (Skylake) and 2nd generation (Cascade Lake) Intel Xeon Scalable CPUs can be installed on the Supermicro GPU SuperServer 6049GP-TRT. Processors can range from 70W to 205W thermal design power (TDP), and provide 4x to 28x physical cores and 8x to 56 virtual threads depending on the SKU. These CPUs support a 6-memory channel architecture.
The system supports either 24x hot-swap SAS, or SATA 3.5-inch drive bays or 22x hot-swap SAS or SATA 3.5-inch bays plus 2x U.2 NVMe 2.5-inch drives. An alternate storage condition includes up to 8x NVMe SSD storage devices with optional Supermicro add-on card, cable and RAID Key. SAS drives will require the addition of a discrete SAS controller card. A single M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 drive slot is also available on the system board of this system.
Featuring 24x DIMM slots with 12x slots per socket, the Supermicro SuperServer 6049GP-TRT can be outfitted with 2x memory modules per memory channel. Only 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors will support Intel Optane DCPMM. DCPMMs in conjunction with dual rank DDR4 memory modules will provide up to 9TB of memory. Using 3DS Registered DIMMs or Load-Reduced DIMMs the system will support up to 6TB of memory. Non-Volatile DIMMs (NVDIMM) are only compatible with 1st gen Intel Xeon Scalable Skylake CPUs.
This system has 20x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots and a single PCIe 3.0 x8 slot, which features a x16 slot length. It can be outfitted with up to 20x Nvidia T4 single slot GPUs, which have a 75W power draw. PCIe slots for the GPUs are supported on a PCIe daughter board. Included in the system is a LSI 3108 SAS RAID 12Gb add-on card with support for up to 240HDDs and a full range of RAID options.
An Out of Band management Package is recommended for remote management of the Supermicro 6049GP-TRT. Also available is the Data Center Management Package. Both are on a per node license model. Additional management options are provided by the Intel node Manager, plus SuperDoctor 5 (SD5), and Supermicro Watchdog. A dedicated RJ45 management port on the back of the system provides access to the integrated ASPEED AST2500 baseboard management controller (BMC), which is IPMI 2.0 and Redfish compliant.
Offering generous storage and performance, the 4U Supermicro GPU SuperServer 6049GP-TRT is designed to support applications in AI, Depp Learning, Plus AI training and inference. Supporting dual 1st or 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors and up to 9TB of memory using DCPMMs and DRAM, this system is also a perfect appliance for high-performance computing applications plus Big Data Analytics.
