Also supported are AMD EPYC CPUs with AMD 3D V-Cache Technology. CPUs are limited to a thermal design power rating of up to 280W with air cooling. The CPUs offer 8-channel memory architecture and with 8x memory module slots the Supermicro 3014TS-I can deliver up to 2TB of memory using 256GB DDR4 load-reduced (LRDIMM) or registered (RDIMM) memory modules. Storage bays include 4x 3.5-inch bays and 4x 2.5-inch storage bays. 2x PCIe 4.0 x4 slots on the system board can be outfitted with NVMe M.2 drives and used for additional storage or to boot the OS. Also included is a Disk on Module (DOM) port, which can also be used to boot the OS or for more storage. The system is powered by a single 900W gold-level PSU.

With 5x PCIe 4.0 x16 full-height slots and 2x PCIe 4.0 x8 slots to support a number of expansion devices. A number of NICs and GPUs can be installed to enhance functionality and to support certain workloads. Workloads include use as an entry-level workstation, 3D simulation and rendering, video and music production, and more! There is also a dedicated RJ45 GbE baseboard management controller (BMC) port to manage the system remotely. Supermicro offers Supermicro SuperDoctor 5 (SD5) and the Supermicro Update Manager (SUM) plus Watch Dog to help manage the system.
