This server supports up to 8x 3.5-inch hot-swap SATA3/SAS drive bays, and 4x hot-swap NVMe drive bays with additional parts. At 2U, the Supermicro Mainstream SuperServer 621P-TR is outfitted with dual 4th or 5th generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, each supporting a TDP of up to 300W and 64 cores. For more storage, there is an option to install 2x additional SFF SAS/SATA drive bays on the rear of the chassis. Under the hood, there are 2x M.2 NVMe slots, plus 2x SuperDOMs (Disk on Module) ports that can be used for more storage or to boot the operating system. It can support up to 4TB of DDR5 RAM in 16 DIMM slots offering speeds of up to 4800MHz.
On the back of the Supermicro SuperServer 621P-TR chassis there are several ports for expandability. Apart from virtualization and corporate server features, this machine is intended for computation-intensive tasks, data and application serving, and other uses. The system supports 4x PCIe 5.0 x16 low profile slots and 2x PCIe 5.0 x8 low profile slots. An optional DVD drive bay is also available. A dedicated IPMI LAN port offers remote and at-chassis management, but the system can also be controlled using Supermicro’s SuperDoctor5, Redfish API, and Super Diagnostics Offline, among others.
