With 24x E3.S hot-swap, 7.5mm NVMe drive bays, the dual-socket Supermicro Storage SuperServer 221E-NE324R delivers a ton of power in a 2U form factor. The system is compatible with 4th generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors (future support for 5th generation Intel Xeon Scalable CPUs). NVIDIA BlueField-2 (BF2) data processing units (DPU) deliver super-fast access to software-defined networking, storage, security and networking services, and are perfect for NVMe over Fabric applications. Also supported are PCIe-based NVIDIA T1000 GPUs.
Under the hood, there are 2x M.2 PCIe 3.0 NVMe or SATA3 slots for 2280 and 22110 cards. There are two redundant 2000W Titanium level power supplies on the server as well. Outfitted with NVIDIA BlueField-2 DPUs, the Intel-based Supermicro Storage 221E-NE324R is designed to handle in-memory computing, NVMe over Fabrics (NVMe-oF) solution, Data Intensive HPC, and more. The motherboard houses 32x memory module slots and up to 8TB of DDR5 RAM when all slots are populated with 256GB memory modules. Maximum memory speeds of up to 4800MHz are supported using Registered (RDIMM) or Load Reduced (LRDIMM) 3DS memory modules. On the back of the chassis, there are 2x PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, 2x PCIe x8 slots. When PCIe x8 slots 1 and 3 are occupied, PCIe slots 2 and 4 downgrade to a x8 link width from a x16 link width. 2x AIOM connectors are OCP 3.0 SFF compliant with one offering a x16 and the other a x8 connector, both PCIe 5.0. 2x 2.5” storage bays on the back of the system can be outfitted with hybrid NVMe or SATA3 drive types. Additionally, this machine can be managed by several software including Redfish API, SuperDoctor 5, Super Diagnostics Offline, and IPMI 2.0.
