The Supermicro Storage SuperServer 521E-E1CR24H is a flexible system with features supporting data processing and storage, business databases, and iSCSI SAN. The single-socket machine supports a 4th generation Intel Xeon Scalable processor, as well as 5th generation Intel Xeon Scalable CPUs, with a TDP of up to 300W. When all 16x memory module slots are filled with 256GB RDIMMs, this system can accommodate up to 4TB of DDR5 memory with speeds up to 4800 MHz. 12x 3.5" hot-swap SATA3/SAS3 drive bays are located on the front panel. An additional 12x 3.5” hot swap drive bays are located in a drive cage just behind the front drive bays for a total of 24x front-accessible drive bays.
The rear of the chassis houses 2x additional 2.5" hot-swappable SATA3 drive bays. A dedicated PCIe 5.0 x16 Advanced I/O Module (AIOM) slot provides network interface controller (NIC) options. For remote access the system features a dedicated RJ45 IPMI LAN port, plus up to 6x PCIe 5.0 slots for expansion. Powered by dual redundant 1600W Titanium level (96%) power supplies, the Supermicro 521E-E1CR24H has 2x internal SATA3 or NVMe M.2 slots that can be used to install 2280 and 22110 cards, and 2x SuperDOM (Disk on Module) ports. To manage the system both at-chassis and remotely, the following can be deployed: Redfish API, Supermicro Server Manager (SSM), Supermicro Update Manager (SUM), SuperDoctor 5, Super Diagnostics Offline, KVM with dedicated LAN and IPMI 2.0. With 24x 3.5” drive bays in a 2U chassis, this system is designed for users that require high-density storage.
