Designed for implementation with the Supermicro SuperBlade Enclosure 414E-422 and 414E-222 the Supermicro SuperBlade 420P-4T2N server offers dual 3rd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors. This server node has three storage bays up front, plus it can support up to 512GB of memory at full capacity.
Up to 14x Supermicro SuperBlade 420P-4T2N Server nodes can be installed in the 4U Supermicro SuperBlade Enclosure 414E-422 or 414E-222 chassis. With all 14x bays on the enclosure outfitted with this dual-socket node it will support up to 28 CPUs and with a full 42U rack enclosure up to 280 CPUs. With dual 3rd generation processors, this server offers compute and memory to support a number high-performance workloads.

Enclosure with four 2000W DC power supplies
Supporting CPUs with a thermal design point of up to 165W this system will support one or two 3rd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors. Each processor also supports 3x Intel Ultra-Path Interconnect (UPI) speeds of up to 11.2GT/s. 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable CPUs also have 8x memory channels for higher memory density.
With 8x memory channels to work with and 8x memory module slots per processor, there are 16x total memory module slots with both processors installed. Up to 512GB of registered (RDIMM) DDR4 ECC very low profile (VLP) memory can be installed at capacity, and will provide speeds of up to 3200MT/s when using 83xx and 63xx series processors.
There are 2x storage bays on the front of the Supermicro 420P-4T2N Server that can be configured for NVMe and SATA3 drive formats. There is also a single PCIe NVMe slot on the motherboard for an M.2 drive that can be used to support the OS. For NVMe applications, a virtual RAID on CPU (vROC) key will provide a simple RAID solution of 0,1,5, or 10 using Intel’s integrated Volume Management Device or VMD.
The system automatically connects to the enclosure through the mid plane, which in turn connects the server node to the power, Chassis Management Module (CMM) and networking modules. This server node supports network connection speeds of 25G Ethernet with dual ports.
This system supports integrated platform management interface protocol 2.0 in addition to KVM over IP and Virtual Media over LAN. The IPMI 2.0 compatible interface accesses the ASPEED AST2600 controller on the server node for remote management of each server node connected to the CMM on the SuperBlade Enclosure. The Supermicro SuperBlade 414E-422 and 414E-222 each support a single CMM for management of the system, either as a whole or to address individual server node.
The Supermicro SuperBlade 420P-4T2N Server node is one of the optional server nodes supported in the 4U high-density Supermicro SuperBlade Enclosure 414E-422 or 414E-222 chassis. It offers dual Intel Xeon Scalable processors from the third generation for improved performance, more memory bandwidth, and PCIe 4.0 data transfer speeds. This platform is used for enterprise cloud computing, high-performance computing or for use as a tool for financial analysis.
