At 1U, this system can easily add capacity to your network without taking up a lot of space. The Supermicro SuperServer 1029UX-LL1-C16 supports dual Intel Xeon Scalable processors for the 1st or 2nd generation and up to 4TB of memory. Optional NVMe drives up front deliver low-latency storage.
Specially configured for low-latency trading applications the Supermicro SuperServer 1029UX-LL1-C16 has a specific set of features designed for the best cost to performance ratio. Similar to other systems in this family that have achieved benchmark world record status for low-latency processing, this one uses 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable CPUs instead of 1st generation processors, and as a result will also support twice the memory at 4TB. *This system is only available in a minimal configuration with 2x CPUs, 12x memory modules, 4x SSDs and at least one low-latency NIC.)
This Ultra SuperServer supports 10x 2.5-inch hot-swappable HDDs, but can also support NVMe or SAS SSDs with the appropriate add-on cards. The 1029U-TR4 server supports first-generation and second-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors that can support up to 28 cores and 70-205W TDP. Each CPU supports 12x memory module slots, for a total of 24x DIMMs, with a maximum memory of 6TB. If you want the fastest and most memory, second-generation processors are required and both CPUs must be installed for full access to PCIe slots and onboard controllers.
Registered (RDIMM) and Load-Reduced (LRDIMM) memory modules are supported on the Supermicro 1029UX-LL1-C16 and will run at 2966MHz, depending on your choice. The system comes standard with 12x 16GB memory modules, but this can be upgraded when purchasing.
10x storage bays up front support two hot-swap NVMe low-latency drives on the far right and hot-swap SAS3 drives in the remaining 8x bays. An integrated 3108 storage controller provides 8x SAS3 ports.
The system has 2x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots and 2x PCIe 3.0 x8 slots, one of which is used for support of the integrated 3108 SAS HD/RAID controller. One low-latency pre-qualified NIC is included with the system, and must be selected from 6x options featuring 10GbE to 40GbE. A second low-latency I/O card is supported. The system also comes standard with 4x integrated 1GbE ports.
The Supermicro 1029UX-LL1-C16 is compatible with the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI). A dedicated port on the back of the chassis provides access Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) which utilizes the ASPEED AST2500 module for at-chassis and remote management of the system. Several other software tools help to manage the system and include the SuperDoctor 5.0 (SD5) and Watchdog.
If you need that competitive edge, and who doesn’t, then consider the low-latency trading advantages that the Supermicro SuperServer 1029UX-LL1-C16 can provide. That includes an easy to install turn-key solution optimized to support your business needs now, and into the future. The standard configuration includes 2x Intel Xeon Scalable Gold 6244 CPUs, DDR4 memory modules, SAS SSDs, and a choice of low-latency network interface cards.
