The Supermicro SuperServer 2024US-TRT server features dual AMD EPYC 7002 series processors and up to 8TB of ECC DDR4 memory. As a Supermicro A+ Ultra system, the 2U rackmount server is designed to deliver the highest performance, scalability, and flexibility to power mission critical workloads.
With support for dual 2nd generation AMD EPYC CPUs, the Supermicro AS-2024US-TRT is a high-performance low-latency server suitable for virtualization, cloud computing, and for use as a high-end enterprise server, among others. The system is optimized for 32 DIMMs with up to 8TB of memory with both processors. * This system is only available as a completely assembled system and must have a minimum of 2x processors, 4x DIMMs, and 1x HDD/NVMe. For optimal performance, 16 DIMMs are recommended.
The SuperServer 2024US-TRT is supported by the latest H12 generation motherboard with dual sockets to support AMD EPYC processors from either the first or second generation. Depending on the processors that are installed, memory speeds can reach up to 3200MHz, but only with second generation CPUs. Processors from the 7002 Series support up to 64 cores and 128 threads per socket, with a maximum TDP of 280W. The chassis features redundant hot-swappable 1600W titanium-level PSUs to keep the system operating if one module fails.
Powered by two AMD EPYC processors, the 2024US-TRT features an 8-channel memory bus, and 16x module slots per CPU, for a total of 32x active memory module slots. The SuperServer 2024US-TRT supports up to 8TB of error-correcting code (ECC) DDR4 SDRAM with up to 3200MHz, compared to 2933MHz in other systems. The H12 motherboard can be outfitted with either Registered (RDIMM), Load Reduced (LRDIMM), 3DS memory modules. Non-Volatile (NVDIMM) memory modules are also supported, but will require a battery to power the modules if there is a power failure.
The chassis has 12x hot-swap 3.5-inch drive bays and supports SATA3 by default. There are also 4x NVMe ports located on the motherboard, two for each processor, and can be activated via optional components. These ports allow high speeds and low-latency PCIe 4.0 connections directly from the CPU to NVMe SSD drives. The storage drives come in a tool-less drive carrier, simplifying installation and removal from the chassis. On the front of each drive carrier there is an activity LED indicator and a status LED indicator. The status of the drive can only be seen on the LED light in RAID configurations. In non-RAID configurations, the status indicator will be off.
The system supports 6x PCI-Express slots, in full-height or low profile, with four x16 slots and two x8 slots. The system accepts 4x full-height full-length PCIe cards, 2x double-width GPUs, 1x low profile card, and an internal expansion slot on the ultra riser card. It also supports an option to add 2x storage drives in place of expansion cards. To have full access to the PCIe slots and onboard controllers, this 2U rackmount server requires both processors.
To oversee the system’s health, the H12 motherboard has an onboard Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) chip, which supports the Intelligent Platform Management Interface 2.0 (IPMI 2.0). IPMI gives IT managers remote access to monitor and manage the system, including the four 8-cm high-performance fans. Depending on the system’s temperature, fan speeds can be controlled with IPMI, giving managers the opportunity to ramp up the speed of remaining fans if one fails in order to avoid the system from overheating and shutting down. The server can also be managed by Watch Dog to monitor and reboot the system when a software application hangs.
Equipped with dual AMD EPYC 7002 series CPUs, up to 8TB of ECC DDR4 memory, and 32x DIMM slots, the Supermicro SuperServer AS-2024US-TRT is a powerful addition to your network. Reaching memory speeds of up to 3200MHz, plus the ability to house 2x double width GPUs will help streamline your business and analytics applications with the latest technology to power through the most complex workloads.
