Featuring 24x hot-swap 2.5-inch storage bays up front, the Supermicro SuperServer 2028U-E1CNRT+ is designed to support a number of business-critical applications. 2x Intel Xeon Processor E5-2600 v4 or v3 processors can be installed providing up to 3TB at full capacity. It has 7x PCIe slots for expansion options.
In addition to the upfront storage bays, there is an option for two more 2.5-inch drive bays in back. This system is designed to support a number of different configurations to support your unique business needs. Using E5-2600 v4 processors the Supermicro SuperServer 2028U-E1CNRT+ can support up to 22 cores per socket for up to 3TB of memory that includes non-volatile DIMM options. Storage is flexible with options for SATA, SAS and NVMe storage devices. It offers 2x 10Gb Ethernet ports for network connectivity plus a dedicated management port. Power is provided by 1000W high-efficiency Titanium level PSUs with 1+1 redundancy. *This system is only sold as a completely-assembled system with a minimum of 2 CPUs and 4 DIMM modules.
Supporting a thermal design point (TDP) of up to 160W, this platform can support Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 or v4 processors with up to 22 physical cores and 44 virtual threads, each. These CPUs use Intel’s QuickPath Interconnect (QPI) offers data transfer rates of up to 9.6GT/s. Each processor also supports a 4-memory channel architecture and PCIe 3.0 connectivity.
With 4x memory channels pe CPU each processor is in charge of 12x memory module slots for 24 active memory module slots with both processors installed. Supported memory types include Registered (RDIMM), Load-Reduced (LRDIMM) and 3DS versions of LRDIMM memory modules which will support up to 3TB of memory using all memory module slots. Non-volatile DIMMs (NVDIMM) are also supported at capacities of 16GB per module.
The Supermicro SuperServer 2028U-E1CNRT+ offers ample storage up front with 24x hot-swap 2.5-inch drive bays, 4x of which support NVMe storage devices. SATA is supported natively using the onboard software storage controller and can support RAIDs of 0, 1, 50, and 10. Up to 24x SAS3 storge devices can be installed but require an add-on card plus an expander board. 2x hot-swap 2.5-inch storage bays accessible from the back of the chassis can be outfitted with SSDs to support the OS or for additional storage.
There are up to 7x PCIe 3.0 expansion slots on the system. SAS3 storage require an add-on-card of which there are several supported options depending on your requirements. Optional network controller cards are also available offering various connection speed and port options.
An RJ45 port on the back of the system provides access to the ASPEED AST2400 baseboard management controller (BMC) for remote and at chassis management of the system. Remote out-of-band management requires an optional OOB Management Package which is provided on a per node license. Additional software to manage the system includes Supermicro SuperDoctor 5 (SD5) and Watch Dog. The Supermicro DataCenter Management Package can also be obtained and has a per node license as well.
Offering substantial storage up front with 24x hybrid storage bays, the Supermicro SuperServer 2028U-E1CNRT+ server also offers flexible connectivity options to support a number of common business applications. It also offers substantial computation with CPUs offering up to 22 cores each and a maximum memory capacity of up to 3TB including support for NVDIMMs. Generous expansion slots support a number of options to tailor the system to your needs.
