The Supermicro SuperServer 6019U-TR25M is part of a 1U family that supports dual Intel Xeon Scalable processors, up to 6TB of memory, and four hot-swappable 3.5-inch drive bays on the front of the system. This system sets itself apart from the other systems in the 6019U family with its dual 25GbE SFP28 Ethernet ports. However, just like the other systems, it must have a minimal configuration of two processors and four memory modules.
The Supermicro 6019U-TR25M is a high-end enterprise appliance that provides expandability for businesses. With its options for 24x DDR4 and Intel Optane memory modules, as well as several other options for the four 3.5-inch hot-swap drives, the 1U rackmount form factor is ideal for high-performance workloads.
The 6019U-TR25M supports both Gen1 and Gen2 Intel Xeon Scalable CPUs, but can’t be mixed. The processors support up to 28 cores each, up to 70-205W TDP, and dual UPI up to 10.4GT/s. The platform also supports dual 25GbE SFP28 Ethernet ports and 24x DIMM slots with a maximum memory of 6TB. Your choice of processors and memory will determine the data transfer speed.
As stated in the performance section, memory speed will be dependent on the processor with Gen2 Intel Xeon Scalable processors providing the fastest memory speeds. Second-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors offer speeds of up to 2933MT/s, while Gen1 CPUs have a slower speed of up to 2666MT/s. The SuperServer 6019U-TR25M supports 24x DIMM slots on the motherboard with an Intel C621 chipset. Both DDR4 Registered (RDIMM) or Load-Reduced (LRDIMM) memory modules are supported. Intel Optane memory is also supported, but only with second-generation Scalable processors.
There are several storage options available on the Supermicro 6019U-TR25M. Four hot-swap 3.5-inch storage bays lining the front of the system support SATA drives natively, but can be configured for SAS or NVMe with an add-on card. The drives are hot-swappable and can be replaced remotely using the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI). The system also supports up to two M.2 SSD drives with up to 3TB of storage and two SATA DOM (Disk on Module) which are conveniently inserted into the serveboard to provide high performance solid state storage capacity that simulates a hard disk drive (HDD).
Under the hood you will find that the SuperSever 6019U-TR25M supports four PCIe 3.0 slots and optional storage using single or dual M.2 solid state drives. One of the PCIe slots can be populated by a double-width graphics card. Network connectivity is provided by dual 25GbE SFP28 Ethernet ports on the back of the chassis, next to the baseboard management controller (BMC) LAN port. It must be noted that both processors must be installed in order to have full access to PCIe slots and onboard controllers.
SuperDoctor5 (SD5) provides access to the server for health monitoring and management features. IT administrators are able to receive alerts for issues such as system and processor temperatures, voltages, and fan speeds. There are several other programs that can also manage the system including Integrated Platform Management Interface 2.0 (IPMI) and Supermicro Server Manager (SSM).
The Supermicro SuperSever 6019U-TR25M is a great option for a flexible working environment. The system accommodates any type of workload using its 24x DIMM slots with 6TB of memory and four storage bays with a variety of configurations. The 1U rackmount server is a solid choice for virtualization, cloud computing, and more!
