Featuring dual socket 4th or 5th generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors with up to 300W TDP and 32 cores, the Supermicro SuperServer 621P-TRT can easily manage the demands of virtualization, application and data serving, plus compute intensive applications. This server has 16x DDR5 DIMM slots that can accommodate up to 4TB of ECC Registered RDIMM memory and speeds up to 5600MHz. The front of the chassis offers 8x hot-swap 3.5-inch SAS3/SATA3 drive bays, with an option to configure 4x of those drives with NVMe drives. In addition, there are 2x optional rear SAS/SATA 2.5-inch drive bays and 1x slim DVD drive bay on the front panel.
Under the hood, there are 2x M.2 PCIe 4.0 x2 slots with support for M-Key 2280 and 22110 form factor cards that can be used to boot the system. For high-performance solid-state storage that resembles an HDD, there are 2x SuperDOM ports. The SuperDom drives can also be used to boot the system in a mirrored RAID. The rear of the SuperServer 621P-TRT chassis allows administrators to access dual 10GbE LAN ports and 6x PCIe 5.0 slots. There are 4x PCIe 5.0 x16 low profile and 2x PCIe 5.0 x8 low profile slots offering a variety of expansion options such as networking, storage, and accelerators.
The system is powered by dual redundant 1200W Titanium level power supply units. There are several tools available for system management, including software like Supermicro Server Manager, Supermicro SuperDoctor 5, and SuperServer Automation Assistant (SAA). SuperDoctor 5 enables management of a single server while Supermicro’s Server Manager can help manage large groups or clusters of servers across the entire infrastructure.
