The Supermicro SuperServer E403-9P-FN2T is a single socket system compatible with 2nd or 1st Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors. This system is designed for Multi-Access Edge Computing, Network Function Virtualization, Artificial Intelligence on Edge, and other applications. Fully configured, this system supports up to 1.5TB of memory and 4x internal 2.5-inch drive bays.
The Supermicro SuperServer E403-9P-FN2T is also designed to support Machine Learning (ML), Industrial Automation, Retail and for use as a Smart Medical Expert System. It features a single socket system compatible with 2nd or 1st Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors with up to 28 cores. 6x DIMM slots available on the system board can hold up to 1.5TB of memory at full capacity. 4x internal 2.5-inch drive bays are available on this system, as well as a single M.2 slot on the system board. The front of the system houses 2x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots or 2x PCIe 3.0 x8 slot and 1x PCIe 3.0 x16 slot. It also offers a short chassis depth for edge applications.
Powered by a single 2nd or 1st Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processor, the hardware configuration supports a Thermal Design Point (TDP) between 70W and 205W. This TDP includes SKUs in the 2nd generation line up with up to 28x physical cores and 56x virtual threads. Installation of CPUs with a TDP above 165W may require additional hardware to accommodate.
4x 2.5-inch SATA drive bays are available on the interior of the system. In addition, it is possible to install a single optional M.2 PCIe slot on the system board. The M.2 slot is ideal for fast access storage or OS installation. 2x SATA SuperDOMs (Disk on Module) are supported and can also be installed and used to host the OS in a mirrored RAID configuration for redundancy. SuperDOMs are SATA3 flash SSD storage devices and can also be used as a backup recover device or an embedded system storage element in harsh climates of environments.
The memory module modules compatible with this system are ECC DDR4 Registered DIMMs (RDIMM) or Load Reduced DIMMs (LRDIMM). The maximum memory configuration on this system is 1.5TB using 6x 256GB ECC DDR4 2933MHz RDIMM/LRDIMM modules. There are 6x DIMM slots available on the system board of the Supermicro E403-9P-FN2T with each memory module occupying one of the six memory channels provided by the CPU.
System expansion is achieved through 2x PCIe 3.0 x16 full-height, full-length slots which can also be configured to house 2x PCIe x8 and 1x PCIe 3.0 x16 full-height, full-length slots. Using a full-height expansion card will require an alternate fan shroud. The front of the chassis houses 2x RJ45 10GbE LAN ports as well as a dedicated IPMI LAN management port. With front accessible PCIe and I/O ports, the system is designed for remote and edge locations that may not have a dedicated server room and require a short chassis length.
Supermicro provides a suite of management options which includes the Intel Node Manager, Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) 2.0, KVM with dedicated LAN, NMI, SPM, SUM, SuperDoctor 5, and Watch Dog. SuperDoctor 5 and Watch Dog are proprietary software options which provide administrators with tools to manage the system remotely or at the chassis.
