Offering 4x nodes with 12x fixed LFF SATA drive bays and optional 2.5” drives mounted in a PCIe slot, per node. The 4U Supermicro SuperServer FatTwin F618H6-FTPTL+ provides reliability and serviceability for any sized business. Each node on the system supports one or two Intel Xeon E5-2600 v4/v3 series processors and a motherboard that features 16x DDR4 DIMM slots.
The Supermicro SuperServer FatTwin F618H6-FTPTL+ is a unique server system with a total of 48x fixed LFF SATA drives across 4x dual-socket server nodes. The 4x system boards incorporated into the 4U chassis act as 4x separate nodes, each with their respective CPUs, drives, and memory. In order to support complex applications and lower the TCO for data centers, the Supermicro FatTwin marks a breakthrough in green computing. The FatTwin's shared components increase cost effectiveness and dependability, and its modular architecture facilitate easy configuration and maintenance.
At the heart of the Supermicro FatTwin F618H6-FTPTL+ lies 4x Super X10DRFF-CTG motherboards which host dual Intel processors based on the C612 chipset. Fully outfitted with CPUs, this chassis can support a total of 8x Intel Xeon E5-2600 v4/v3 series CPUs, with 2x CPUs per server node. The CPUs support up to 22 cores with a Data Transfer Rate of up to 9.6 GT/s per direction. Each node is connected to the server backplane by means of an adapter card and each act separately so they can be powered off and on without affecting the others. This chassis includes two high-efficiency 96%+ Titanium certified redundant 2000W power supplies and 8x rear exhaust fans to provide cooling for the 4x server nodes.
Each node features 16x memory module slots that can be outfitted with up to 2TB of Load Reduced DIMMs (3DS LRDIMM) or up to 1TB of Registered DIMMs (RDIMM). Depending on the type of memory and processors installed, memory speeds supported will range from 1600 to 2400MHz.
The nodes on the 4U FatTwin F618H6-FTPTL+ each offer 12x fixed 3.5” SAS/SATA drive bays and optional 2.5” drives mounted in a PCIe slot at the front of the system. A total of 48x drive bays are available, with 12x drives supported in each of the 4s server nodes. These drives support SATA3 RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 capability and SAS3 RAID 0, 1, 10 support with a Broadcom 3008 controller. All hard drives are fixed on the motherboard tray and can only be retrieved by removing the top cover.
There are 2x PCIe 3.0 x8 slots on each node of the Supermicro F618H6-FTPTL+ system for a total of 8x expansion cards in the chassis. Each expansion card connects to the motherboard with a riser card. On the rear of each, there is a VGA port, 2x USB 3.0 ports, 1x IPMI Ethernet port and either 2x 10GBase-T or 1-Gigabit Ethernet ports per node.
The Supermicro SuperDoctor 5 works through a command-line or web-based interface. The software keeps track of system health data like CPU temperature, system voltages, system power usage, and fan speed and sends out notifications through email or SNM protocol (SNMP). Multiple systems can have their power turned on/off and their chassis intrusion reset remotely using SuperDoctor 5 Management Server (SSM Server) and IPMI. For you to run your business as efficiently as possible, SD5 Management Server keeps an eye on the HTTP, FTP, and SMTP services.
Built to offer a quick return on investment plus easy configuration, the Supermicro SuperServer FatTwin F618H6-FTPTL+ features 4x server nodes. Each of the nodes can be outfitted with 12x fixed drive bays, dual Intel CPUs, and 16x DIMMs supporting up to 2TB of memory at capacity. The system is compatible with Intel Xeon E5-2600 v4/v3 series processors supporting memory speeds up to 2400MHz.
