The Supermicro SuperServer FatTwin F619P2-FT+ is a high-density system with 8x hot-pluggable server nodes in a 4U form factor. Each dual processor node supports first- or second-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, plus up to 4x fixed drives and up to 3TB of memory, allowing fast and ultra-efficient multitasking for the most demanding applications.
Powered by dual Intel Xeon Scalable processors, the Supermicro SuperServer FatTwin F619P2-FT+ includes 8x server nodes for a highly flexible and serviceable platform. Each node has two 2.5-inch drives with an option to install two more 2.5-inch drives, for a total of four drives. The system is also capable of supporting up to 12 DIMMs with up to 3TB of memory. Intel Optane memory modules are supported but only with 2nd generation CPUs. Cooling and power are handled at the chassis with 4x redundant 2000V/2200V PSUs providing power to the server nodes and 8x high performance fans pulling air from the front to the back of the chassis.
The F619P2-FT+ supports the latest X11 generation motherboard with dual Intel Xeon Scalable processors from either the first- or second-generation. Each CPU can handle up to 28 cores and a TDP from 70 to 165W with IVR. Memory speeds will differ depending on which CPU generation is used and the supported speed of the memory modules.
Under the hood, there are 6x memory channels per CPU, with each CPU in control of 6x DDR4 DIMM slots for a total of 12x active memory module slots with both processors, per node. The FatTwin F619P2-FT+ supports up to 3TB of DDR4 memory depending on your choice of Registered (RDIMM), Load-Reduced (LRDIMM), or Intel Optane (DCPMM) memory modules. Second-generation processors allow memory to reach speeds of 2933MHz, while Gen1 delivers slower speeds of 2666MHz.
The FatTwin chassis holds up to 8x individual motherboards in separate 1U nodes. At the rear of each node are four fixed internal 2.5-inch SATA3 or NVMe drives. SATA3 plug directly into the motherboard through the integrated chipset controller. There are four internal PCIe 3.0 x4 ports dedicated for NVMe U.2 drives. Each node also has two PCIe/SATA M.2 slots on the motherboard to support an OS in a RAID of 0 or 1. Note: If a node is pulled out of the chassis, the hard drives associated with that node will power down as well.
Each of the 8x nodes in the chassis has space for two low-profile expansion cards mounted in the front of the node, plus a dedicated slot for a Supermicro I/O Module (SIOM) for flexible I/O options. There are three types of PCIe 3.0 slots in each node including x8, x16, and x16 (SIOM). Each expansion card must be plugged into a riser card, which in turn plugs into the X11 motherboard. Also on the front of the chassis, there is a RJ45 dedicated IPMI LAN port.
Like all Supermicro systems, the SuperServer FatTwin F619P2-FT+ feature SuperDoctor 5 (SD5), a management program that functions in a command-line or web-based interface for Windows or Linux operating systems. SD5 monitors system health information like CPU temperature, system power consumption and voltages, as well as fan speed. The program also provides alerts via email or Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). Other management programs available include Intel Node Manager, IPMI 2.0, and Watch Dog.
Made for enterprise applications, HPC, scientific virtualization and more, the Supermicro SuperServer FatTwin F619P2-FT+ features the latest X11 motherboard and components. The server supports 8x individual dual-socket nodes compatible with Gen1 or Gen2 Intel Xeon Scalable processors supporting memory speeds up to 2933MHz. The nodes offer several storage options, including M.2, plus a variety of memory alternatives, including Intel Optane for both speed and resiliency.
