With up to 50x hot-swap 2.5-inch SAS3 or SATA3 storage devices in a unique drive bay configuration, the Supermicro SuperStorage 2029P-E1CR48H server is designed for storage-intensive applications. Dual Intel Xeon Scalable processors from the 1st or 2nd generations support 24x DIMM slots for up to 6TB of memory, perfect of in-memory database applications.
Designed for Corporate Database, Database Processing & Storage, Enterprise Server, HPC, Data Center, and iSCSI SAN applications, the Supermicro SuperStorage 2029P-E1CR48H server offers substantial storage in a 2U chassis with 50x hot-swap storage bays. Two Intel Xeon Scalable processors from the first or second generation provide up to 28 cores of processing power and can support up to 6TB of memory. This is a highly scalable platform that can also be outfitted with Data Centric Persistent Memory Modules (DCPMM) providing not only speed but resiliency to your data storage needs.
* To maintain quality and integrity, this product is sold only as a completely-assembled system with a minimum of 2x CPUs, 2x DIMMs, 12x HDDs and 1x NIC or SIOM card.
Two Intel Xeon Scalable processors from either the first or second generation can be installed. Core counts of 4x to 28x physical cores and 8x to 56x virtual threads provide PCIe 3.0 connection speeds and 6x memory channels, per processor. Processors with a Thermal Design Point (TDP) of 70-165W are supported.
Both SAS3 and SATA3 storage devices are supported, although SAS drives will require a discrete HBA/RAID controller. There are two hard drive cages with one in front and one just behind the front drive cage. Each holds up to 24x 2.5-inch drives for 48 hot-swap drive bays. 2x more drive bays in back support 2.5-inch SATA3 drive formats and can be used to boot the system in a mirrored RAID or can be used for more storage. In addition, the system supports 2x SuperDOM (Disk On module) on the system board, which can also be used to boot the system in a redundant configuration.
With 6x memory channels and 12 memory module slots per processor, there are 24 active memory module slots with both processors installed. Supported memory modules include Registered DIMMs (RDIMM) Load-Reduced DIMMs (LRDIMM) and DCPMMs. DCPMMs are only supported using second generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors. memory speeds of 2933MHz, 2666MHz, 2400MHz, and 2133MHz are supported depending on CPU, memory module, and memory configuration.
Network communications on this system are handled by either a PCIe based NIC card or Supermicro I/O Module (SIOM) for flexible networking that has a dedicated PCIe 3.0 slot just below the rear drive cage. There are 3x more PCIe slots on the Supermicro 2029P-E1CR48H server with 1x PCIe 3.0 x16 slot and two PCIe 3.0 x8 slots.
A dedicated RJ45 management port on the back of the system provides access to the baseboard management controller (BMC) for remote management of the system. The system also supports KVM over LAN and Media over LAN for remote management of system. Several other software utilities are provided including Intel Node Manager, plus supermicro’s proprietary Supermicro Power Manager (SPM), Supermicro Update Manager (SUM), and Supermicro Server Manager (SSM), and Supermicro SuperDoctor 5 (SD5). SSM is an all-in-one management solution to monitor Supermicro servers in the datacenter from a single console view and supports RES APIs and WebUI. SuperDoctor 5 can be configured to send alerts and monitors hardware health and availability of target node systems.
Supporting up to 50x SAS3/SATA3 storage bays, the Supermicro SuperStorage 2029P-E1CR48H server delivers substantial storage in a 2U chassis for applications in Database Processing and Storage, and for use in an ISCSI Storage Area Network, High-Performance Computing, Corporate Database and for use in the Datacenter. It provides substantial memory at up to 6TB with support from dual 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, useful for in-memory database applications.
