The Supermicro SuperStorage 6028R-E1CR16T is a 2U, dual-socket platform with flexible hybrid NVMe/SAS/SATA storage options to support high-performance applications and workloads. This system has 18x storage bays which feature a SAS expander backplane with a Broadcom 3108 controller to support 8x SAS 3.0 ports.
Designed to support external and internal hard drives, the Supermicro SuperStorage 6028R-E1CR16T is powered by dual Intel Xeon processors from the E5-2600 v4/v3 family. It features 12x drive bays on the front panel, 4x internal bays, and an additional 2x on the rear with options for support of SAS, SATA and NVMe storage options.
The X10DRH-CT motherboard supports a single or dual Intel Xeon E5-2600 v4 or v3 series CPUs with a TDP of up to 145W. The system can support CPUs with up to 22 cores and a 55MB cache, plus a QuickPath Interconnect of up to 9.6GT/s. The SuperStorage 6028R-E1CR16T has a 1000W redundant, hot-plug power supply consisting of 2x power modules. Each module has an auto-switching capability and can operate at a 100V-240V input voltage.
Featuring 16x memory module slots, the Supermicro 6028R-E1CR16T that can support up to 2TB of 3DS load-reduced (LRDIMM) memory, or up to 512GB of registered (RDIMM) memory. Depending on the type of memory sticks installed, memory speeds range from 1600 to 2133MHz.
The 6028R-E1CR16T chassis has 12x 3.5” SAS3 hard drives on the front panel, 4x LFF internal drives, and an additional 2x SFF SATA hard drives on the rear. The dual storage bays in back can be installed using a mounting kit. A Broadcom 3108 SAS controller can support SAS 3.0 ports with RAID configurations of 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60. Additionally, a SATA controller is integrated into the C612 chipset to provide 10x SATA 3.0 ports with RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10. All drive bays are hot-swappable.
The Supermicro 6028R-E1CR16T platform supports 7x low-profile PCIe expansion cards. There are six PCIe 3.0 x8 slots and one PCI-E 3.0 x16 slot. PCIe slots are controlled by the CPUs so only 3x slots (Slot 1-Slot 3) are available with one CPU, and the other 4x slots (Slot 4-Slot 7) are activated when both processors are installed. On the I/O backplane there are 2x Ethernet ports which support 10GbE network connections. An IPMI LAN port is located above the rear USB ports.
To meet your system monitoring needs to the fullest, Supermicro’s SuperDoctor 5 is available in local and remote management versions and may be utilized with Nagios. You can remotely control power on/off and reset chassis intrusion for many systems using SuperDoctor 5 or IPMI with the help of the SuperDoctor 5 Management Server (SSM Server). To increase the effectiveness of your business, SD5 Management Server keeps an eye on HTTP, FTP, and SMTP services.
The 2U Supermicro SuperStorage 6028R-E1CR16T server is a dual-socket platform built around Intel’s E5-2600 v4 or v3 series CPUs. With support for up to 18x drive bays in flexible hybrid configurations and 16x DIMMs with up to 2TB of memory, this system has a lot to contribute to businesses running high-performance computing applications.
