The Supermicro SuperStorage 6049P-E1CR36H hosts a dual-socket motherboard that supports 1st and 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors with up to 28 cores each and a TDP of up to 70-205W. The chassis supports 36x 3.5” hard drives in several flexible storage options such as 24x 3.5-inch SAS/SATA drive bays on the front, 12x 3.5-inch SAS/SATA bays plus 2x 2.5-inch SATA drives on the rear, and 2x M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 x2 slots on the motherboard to attach high-speed PCIe storage devices.
Ideal for corporate database, high-performance computing, and iSCSI SAN, the 4U Supermicro SuperStorage 6049P-E1CR36H accommodates a variety of expansion slots. 4x PCIe 3.0 x8 slots and 3x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots can be used, leaving slot 2 and 3 occupied by a controller and JBOD expansion port for host system access. The platform also features 16x DIMMs with up to 4TB of 3DS ECC DDR4 RAM offering speeds of up to 2933MHz, plus support for Intel Optane DCPMMs. The server has a redundant, hot-plug 1200-watt power supply made up of two power modules. Each power supply module features an auto-switching feature that enables it to automatically detect and function at an input voltage range of 100V to 240V. This Intel-based system offers many management options including Watchdog, Intel Node Manager, and SuperDoctor5. The latter functions in a command-line or web-based interface for Windows and Linux operating systems. This program keeps track of system health data including CPU temperature, voltages, power usage, and fan speed and sends out notifications through email or Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).
