The Supermicro SuperStorage 6049P-E1CR45H Server is a 4U rackmount storage system with dual 1st or 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. Each CPU socket supports 12x DIMM slots for a total of 24x DIMM slots on the system board for up to 6TB of memory. This system features 45x hot-swap 3.5-inch SAS3/SATA3 drive bays plus 2x hot-swap 2.5-inch SATA drive bays and optional 6x 2.5-inch NVMe hot-swap drive cage.
Designed to support Corporate Database, Database Processing and Storage, Enterprise Server, HPC, Data Center, and iSCSI SAN applications the, Supermicro SuperStorage 6049P-E1CR45H Server can be outfitted with up to 2x 1st or 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. 24x DIMM slots on the system board are evenly divided between each of the CPU sockets. A total of 45x hot-swap 3.5-inch SAS3/SATA3 drive bays can be found on this system along with 2x 2.5-inch SATA drive bays in back. Optional 6x 2.5-inch NVMe hot swap drive bays can be accessed from the top. System expansion solutions include 2x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots and a single PCIe 3.0 x8 slot.

Dual 1st or 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors can be installed. The Thermal Design Point (TDP) ranges between 70W and 205W. Compatible CPUs on this system can have a maximum of 28x Physical Cores and 56x Virtual Threads. Each processor supports 6x memory channels that can be outfitted with 2x memory modules per channel.
Storage solutions on this platform include 45x 3.5-inch hot-swap SAS3/SATA3 drive bays along with 2x rear 2.5-inch SATA drive bays. The interior of the system can house 6x optional NVMe drive bays in a separate dive cage adding to the other 45x drive bays. The optional NVMe drive bays offer fast access storage. When installed, SAS drives can support RAID levels of 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60 with an optional Broadcom Controller, while SATA drives support RAID levels of 0, 1, 5, and 10 using the onboard controller.
A total of 24x DIMM slots are evenly divided between each of the two sockets. Compatible memory modules on this system include DDR4 Registered DIMMs (RDIMMs) and Load Reduced DIMMs (LRDIMMs). Intel Optane DCPMMs are also supported on this system but only with the 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors installed. The maximum memory configuration on this system is 6TB using 3DS ECC DDR4 RDIMMs or LRDIMMs. Supported memory speeds are based on the memory module, CPU and memory configuration and include speeds of 2933MHz, 2666MHz, 2400MHz, and 2133MHz.
To accommodate for system expansion, the Supermicro 6049P-E1CR45H Server holds 2x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots and a single 1x PCIe 3.0 x8 slot. These slots are accessible through the rear of the system. A Supermicro I/O Module (SIOM) is supported in a x16 slot and can be bundled with a network card at time of purchase.
Supermicro’s suite of management tools and software are available on the 6049P-E1CR45H Server. These options include the Intel Node Manager, the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) 2.0, NMI, SSM, SPM, SUM, SuperDoctor 5, and Watchdog. Supermicro’s Out-of-Band License Key is required for remote access management features.
