The Supermicro SuperStorage 6049P-E1CR45L is a 4U Rackmount Server compatible with dual 1st or 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. There are a total of 24x DIMM slots on the system board for up to 6TB of memory. It features 45x 3.5-inch hot-swap SAS3/SATA3 drive bays (top loading) plus 2x more SATA3 drive bays on the rear of the chassis and an option for 6x 2.5-inch more NVMe drives. System expansion is achieved through two PCIe 3.0 x16 slots.
Designed to support mass storage needs in Corporate Database applications, Database Processing and Storage, Enterprise Server, High-Performance Computing and Data Center tasks, plus iSCSI SAN, the Supermicro SuperStorage 6049P-E1CR45L Server houses up to 53x storage devices. A total of 45x 3.5-inch hot-swap SAS3/SATA3 drive bays are available on this system along with 2x hot-swap 2.5-inch SAS3 drive bays on the rear of the system and an optional drive cage with 6x 2.5-inch NVMe bays. It features dual 1st or 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors, each of which supports 12x DIMM slots for a total of 24x DIMM slots on the system board.

Dual 1st or 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors can be installed on this system. The Thermal Design Point (TDP) includes CPUS up to 205W, which includes the entire line-up of Scalable processors. Compatible processors on this system can have a maximum of up to 28x Physical Cores and 56x Virtual Threads. Each CPU socket supports 6x memory channels that can be outfitted with 2x memory modules. Each of the processors supports 6x memory channels and 12x memory module slots.
Storage solutions on this platform include 45x 3.5-inch hot-swap SAS3/SATA3 drive bays along with 2x rear 2.5-inch SATA drive bays. An optional drive cage can be installed in the interior of this system and can house 6x 2.5-inch optional NVMe drive bays. The optional NVMe drive bays offer fast, resilient storage. SATA drives support RAID levels of 0, 1, 5, and 10 using the onboard controller, while SAS drives will require a Broadcom 3008 Add-On-Card (AOC) providing a full range of RAID options.
A total of 24x DIMM slots are evenly divided between both sockets of the Supermicro 6049P-E1CR45L Server. Compatible memory modules on this system include DDR4 Registered DIMMs (RDIMM) and Load Reduced DIMMs (LRDIMM). Intel Optane DCPMMs are also supported on this system but are only compatible using 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. The maximum memory configuration on this system is 6TB using 3DS ECC DDR4 RDIMMs or LRDIMMs. Supported memory speeds on this system include 2933MHz, 2666MHz, 2400MHz, and 2133MHz.
The SuperStorage 6049P-E1CR45L has dual PCIe 3.0 x16 plus a single PCIe 3.0 x8 slot. These slots are accessible through the rear of the system. A Supermicro I/O Module (SIOM) offering 2-4 Ethernet ports with variable link speeds, is supported in a x16 slot and can be bundled with a network card at time of purchase.
Supermicro provides a suite of management tools and software utilities on the 6049P-E1CR45L Server. The suite includes the Intel Node Manager, the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) 2.0, NMI, SSM, SPM, SUM, SuperDoctor 5, and Watchdog. Supermicro’s Out-of-Band License Key is required for remote access management features.
