Outfitted with dual Intel Xeon Scalable processors from the 1st or 2nd generation, at capacity, it can support up to 6TB of memory for in-memory database and SAN environments.
Designed for Corporate Database, Database Processing & Storage, Enterprise Server, HPC, Data Center, and iSCSI SAN, the Supermicro SuperStorage 6049P-E1CR60L+ offers up to 68x hybrid storage bays in a 4U chassis. Featuring 2x 1st or 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors with 24 DIMM slots between the two CPUs, it can support up to 6TB of memory. With 3x PCIe 3.0 slots and an optional Supermicro I/O Module it can be outfitted with a number of network communications options.

This system is compatible with Intel Xeon Scalable processors from the 1st or 2nd generation with 4x to 28x cores each. These processors support PCIe 3.0 and 6x memory channels that can be outfitted with 1x or 2x memory modules.
Designed for mass storage applications, the Supermicro SuperStorage 6049P-E1CR60L+ offers 60x 3.5-inch LFF SAS3/SATA3 storage bays with 2x 2.5-inch storage bays in back that can be used to support the OS in mirror mode. The 3.5-inch drive bays are able to support 2.5-inch drives without a converter kit. An optional 6x bay storage cage can also be installed inside the chassis supporting up to 6x NVMe drives. SAS implementations require a discrete HBA/RAID controller Add-On-Card (AOC) offering speeds of 12Gb/s compared to only 6Gb/s using SATA drives.
As the Supermicro 6049P-E1CR60L+ Server only comes with both processors installed, it supports 24x memory module slots with each CPU in charge of 12x memory module slots. With 6x memory channels per CPU, each memory channel can be outfitted with a maximum of 2x memory modules. Supported memory formats include Registered DIMMs (RDIMM) Load-Reduced DIMMs (LRDIMM) and Data Centric Persistent Memory Modules (DCPMM). However, only 2nd generation CPUs will support DCPMMs. Memory speeds of 2933MHz, 2666MHz, 2400MHz, and 2133MHz are supported depending on the processor, memory module, and memory configuration.
In addition to an optional Supermicro I/O Module (SIOM) that offers 2x to 4x ports with connection speeds ranging from 1GbE to 10GbE, there are 3x PCIe 3.0 slots for additional network connection options. 2x of the PCIe slots are x16 with one x8 slot. Either an SIOM or Network interface Controller (NIC) must be included with the system at time of purchase.
Supermicro provides a number of management features on this system. A dedicated Integrated Platform management interface v2.0, or IPMI 2.0, provides access to the Aspeed AST2500 baseboard Management Controller for remote management of the system. Additional software utilities include the Intel Node Manager, and Supermicro’s SuperDoctor5 (SD5), and Watchdog.
