Supermicro Twin SuperServer 2028TR-HTFR

Description

Designed for data centers, cloud services, e-commerce, and hyperscale applications, the Supermicro Twin SuperServer 2028TR-HTFR houses 4x separate server nodes. Each node supports up to 2x Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 family CPUs with 8x DIMM slots per a node, evenly divided between both CPU sockets. When fully configured, the maximum memory capacity is 1TB per node. Each node is connected to 6x 2.5-inch hot-swap SATA3 drive bays for a total of 24x on the whole system. A single PCIe 3.0 low-profile slot on each node provides options for additional I/O. 2x 1600W redundant Titanium Level power supplies power this system.

Performance

Each node on the Supermicro SuperServer 2028TR-HTFR houses up to 2x Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 family CPUs. Because of the hardware configuration on this system, the supported CPUs have a Thermal Design Point (TDP) up to 145W. With the previous restrictions, compatible CPUs include a physical core count of up to 22x and a virtual thread count of up to 44x.

Storage

There are 6x 2.5-inch hot-swap SATA3 drive bays connected to each of the 4x nodes supported on this system for a total of 24x drive bays. In addition, there are 2x SATA device on module (SATA DOM) slots on the system board for each node, ideal for additional storage or OS Installation.

Memory

DDR4 Load Reduced DIMMs (LRDIMM), Registered DIMMs (RDIMM), or 3DS LRDIMMs are compatible with the Supermicro 2028TR-HTFR. Each node supports 8x DIMM slots evenly divided between each CPU socket. Fully configured, each server node supports up to a maximum of 1TB of memory using 8x 128GB 3DS LRDIMMs. Available memory speeds on this system include 2400MHz, 2133MHz, 1866MHz, or 1600MHz.

Expansion

System expansion is achieved through a single PCIe 3.0 x16 low-profile slot available on the rear of each node. Dual RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports are also available on each node, providing an integrated connection to the rest of your IT infrastructure.

Management

Supermicro provides a suite of management options which include the SuperDoctor 5 and Watch Dog software. Nodes also house dedicated IPMI LAN ports that connect to the ASPEED AST2400 baseboard management controller (BMC), in each server node, for remote or at chassis management.
