The Supermicro Twin SuperServer 220TP-HTTR is a 2U system in a 4x node configuration. Each of the nodes house dual CPU sockets compatible with 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. There are a total of 16x DIMM slots on each node evenly divided between each CPU socket. Each server node is allocated 6x of the 24x 2.5-inch hot-swap SATA drive bays.
Designed for tasks such as Hyper-Converged Infrastructure, High-Performance Computing, and Big Data / Big Science applications the Supermicro Twin SuperServer 220TP-HTTR features four dual socket server nodes. With 2x CPU sockets per node, there is a total of 8x sockets across the whole system. Compatible with 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors, each socket supports 8x DIMM slots for a total of 16x DIMM slots per node. Storage solutions on this system include 6x 2.5-inch drive bays, per node, for a total of 24x drive bays on the front of the chassis.
Due to the hardware specifications of the Supermicro SuperServer 220TP-HTTR, the Thermal Design Point (TDP) of the CPU is limited to 185W. Given this TDP limitation, a maximum of 32x Physical Cores and 64x Virtual Threads are supported by each of the 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors in each of the server nodes.
6x hot-swap 2.5-inch SATA drive bays are assigned to each of the 4x server nodes operating at 6Gb/s. A PCIe 4.0 x8 slot can hold an M.2 adapter with support for 2x NVMe 22x80mm drives for fast access storage to support the operating system in a redundant configuration. The intel C621A chipset supports RAID configurations of 0, 1, 5, and 10. For more RAID options a discrete RAID controller is recommended.
There are a total of 16x DIMM slots per node for a total of 64x DIMM slots. Memory module slots are compatible with DDR4 DRAM modules. When fully configured, each node can be outfitted with up to 4TB of memory using 16x 256GB DRAM modules in each slot. Available memory speeds on this system are 3200MHz, 2933MHz, and 2666MHz depending on your choice of CPU and memory configuration.
Expanding the capabilities of the Supermicro 220TP-HTTR server is achieved through 2x PCIe 4.0 x16 low-profile slots on each node. In addition to these slots, there is a single PCIe 4.0 x8 slot which can be used for an adapter card that can be outfitted with 1x or 2x NVMe M.2 drives and is for Operating System boot only.
Supermicro’s management software suite includes the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) 2.0, Redfish API, SSM, Intel Node Manager, SPM, KVM with dedicated LAN, SUM, NMI, Watch Dog, and SuperDoctor5 (SD5). Remote access for each server node is available for system management via Supermicro’s Out of Band (OOB) Software License Key.
The Supermicro Twin SuperServer 220TP-HTTR is a quad server node system with support for dual sockets supporting 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors on each node. This system is designed to handle High Performance Computing, Hyper-Converged Infrastructures, plus Big Data/Big Science tasks. With 16x memory module slots in each of the 4x server nodes, there are a total of 64x DIMM slots across the whole system. The front of the system houses 24x SATA drive bays with 6x 2.5-inch SATA bays allocated to each node, plus an optional PCIe adapter card that supports 2x NVMe M.2 drives for rapid boot of the system.
