The Supermicro Twin SuperServer 6028TR-DTR is a 2U rack-mountable system that houses 2x nodes in its chassis. Each node supports dual Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v4/v3 family CPUs. A total of 12x 3.5-inch hot-swap drive bays can be found on the front of the chassis, with each node connected to 6x drive bays. Fully configured, each node supports up to 1TB of memory.
Designed for data centers, cloud services, and high-performance computing, the Supermicro Twin SuperServer 6028TR-DTR delivers excellent compute performance for data centers with 2x server nodes housed in its 2U chassis. Each server node features dual Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v4/v3 family processors, with 8x DIMM slots divided evenly between the 2x CPU sockets. The maximum supported memory on this system is 2TB, with each node delivering 1TB of memory. Each node is connected to 6x 3.5-inch hot-swappable SATA3 drive bays. There are 3x PCIe expansion slots on the back of each system node. 2x 1200W Redundant Titanium Level power supplies power this system.
The hardware configuration on this system features dual Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v4/v3 family CPUs with a maximum Thermal Design Point (TDP) of 145W. As a result of the thermal restrictions, the maximum physical core count for each CPU is 22x physical cores with 44x virtual threads. E5-2600 and v4 CPUs support memory speeds up to 2400MHz while v3 versions will support memory speeds up to 2133MHz.
Each node on the Supermicro SuperServer 6028TR-DTR is connected to 6x 3.5-inch hot-swap SATA3 drive bays for a total of 12x drive bays on the whole system. In addition, there are 2x SATA device on module (SATA DOM) slots on the system board for each node, ideal for additional storage or OS Installation.
DDR4 Load Reduced DIMMs (LRDIMM), Registered DIMMs (RDIMM), or 3DS LRDIMMs are compatible memory modules on the Supermicro 6028TR-DTR. Each of the two nodes supports 8x DIMM slots evenly split between each CPU socket. Fully configured, the maximum memory capacity on this system is 1TB using 8x 128GB 3DS LRDIMM modules. Memory speeds available on this system include 2400MHz, 2133MHz, 1866MHz, and 1600MHz.
System expansion is achieved through 3x PCIe 3.0 expansion slots found on the rear of each node. 2x of these slots are PCIe 3.0 x8 full-height, half-length slots. The final slot is PCIe 3.0 x8 low-profile slot. There are 2x RJ45 Gbe ports which connects the Intel i350 Dual Port Gigabit Ethernet to this system to the rest of your IT infrastructure and a dedicated integrated platform management interface LAN port (IPMI) for each server node.
Supermicro provides a suite of management software which includes the SuperDoctor 5 and Watch Dog. Each node also houses a single dedicated IPMI LAN that connects to the ASPEED AST2400 baseboard management controller (BMC) for at chassis and remote management of the system.
The Supermicro Twin SuperServer 6028TR-DTR is designed for cloud services, data centers, and high-performance computational tasks. 2x nodes on this chassis support dual Intel Xeon E5-2600 v4/v3 family CPUs, with each socket supporting 4x DIMM slots. Fully configured, each node can support up to 1TB of memory capacity. Nodes are connected to 6x hot-swap drive bays each. There are 3x PCIe expansion slots on each node.
