The Supermicro TwinPro SuperServer 6029TP-HC1R server supports 4x nodes in its 2U chassis, each with dual 1st or 2nd gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors with up to 28 cores. For the most demanding workloads, this high-performance computing platform offers SAS or SATA configurations and 12x hot-swap drive bays, plus potential support for up to 16TB of memory for the entire unit.
The Supermicro TwinPro SuperServer 6029TP-HC1R is equipped with 4x nodes, each with up to 4TB of memory when all 16x memory module slots are populated. This server is designed for compute-intensive, high-performance applications in the data center and for use as an enterprise server or financial analysis.
Featuring dual processors in each of the 4x nodes, the 6029TP-HC1R system boosts performance with each CPU supporting up to 28 cores and 56 threads to support a wider range of workloads with per-core performance increases. Both 1st and 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors are supported and each CPU supports 16x DIMMs and memory speeds of up to 2933MHz.
The motherboard on the TwinPro 6029TP-HC1R supports Intel’s Optane DC Persistent memory modules (DCPMM) and provides hyper-speed storage capability for high performance computing applications with flexible configuration options. The system’s board supports 4TB of memory with 16x DIMMs installed and offers speeds of up to 2933MHz when second-generation processors are deployed. The server is compatible with 3DS load-reduced (LRDIMM), standard LRDIMM, 3DS registered (RDIMM), standard RDIMM and non-volatile (NVDIMM) memory modules.
As a system, the TwinPro SuperServer 6029TP-HC1R comes with 12x hot-swap 3.5” SAS or SATA drives on the front panel with 3x allocated to each dual-socket server node. RAID levels of 0, 1, 5 are supported with a SuperCap option using the discrete Broadcom 3108 SAS3 controller.
A pre-installed riser card on the motherboard allows 2x PCIe 3.0 x16 low-profile slots and support for a single Super I/O Module (SIOM) card, which gives users the freedom to select networking options from 1Gb/s to 100Gb/s and number of available ports. Occupying a dedicated slot on the motherboard, the SIOM also allows for more expansion options by freeing up PCIe slots that were originally dedicated for add-on cards. *Barebone or complete systems require SIOM or network card installed per node.
To manage the system, software programs such as Watch Dog can monitor the TwinPro 6029TP-HC1R, and reboot the system when an application hangs. Another program, SuperDoctor 5, can be configured to send email alerts of system events and can configure the chassis’ temperature, voltages, or fan speed, both at chassis or remotely using a standard browser interface.
The Supermicro TwinPro SuperServer 6029TP-HC1R features 4x nodes, each offering up to 4TB of memory, for up to 16TB of memory in the 2U chassis. Each node supports dual sockets from either 1st or 2nd gen Intel Xeon Scalable CPUs and are allocated 3x hot-swap 3.5-inch drive bays. Administrators can customize a system that works best for their business and workloads by choosing from a variety of configuration options.
