The Supermicro WIO SuperServer 512B-WR is a single-socket, 1U system outfitted with an Intel Xeon 6 6700 series processor featuring E-Cores. The Intel CPU supports up to 144 cores and 144 threads with a TDP of up to 300W when using air cooling. An 8-chvannel memory architecture with 8x memory module slots supports up to 1TB of memory when all slots are filled with 128GB DDR5 modules running at 6400MT/s.
Built for high-performance applications such as cloud computing, database/storage, and use as an entry GPU server, the Supermicro SuperServer 512B-WR supports 4x hot-swap 3.5” PCIe 5.0 NVMe, SAS3, and SATA3 drive bays on the front panel. NVMe and SAS support may require an additional storage controller and cables. The system also offers 2x M.2 PCIe 5.0 x2 NVMe slots under the hood, compatible with 2280 or 22110 form factor cards.
Either 1x double-width or 2x single-width GPUs with a PCIe 5.0 x16 CPU-to-GPU interconnect can be installed into the Supermicro 512B-WR. A tool-less, top-loading riser design supports 3x PCIe 5.0 expansion slots: 1x PCIe 5.0 x8 (in x16) LP slot and 2x PCIe 5.0 x16 FHFL slots. On the rear, there are 2x 860W redundant (1 + 1) Titanium-level power supplies offering 96% efficiency alongside a serial port, a VGA port, 2x RJ45 1GbE LAN ports, 2x USB 3.2 Gen1 ports, and a dedicated BMC LAN port. Administrators can manage the server using Supermicro’s software, which includes SuperCloud Composer, Supermicro Server Manager, and SuperServer Automation Assistant.
