Offering 10x SATA 2.5” drive bays on the front of the system, the Tyan Thunder SX GT62FB5630 B5630G62FV10HR server is designed for any high computing workload. The platform is part of the Tyan Thunder SX GT62FB5630 three-server family, all of which are powered by a single Intel Xeon Scalable processor from the first- or second-generation.
With support for a single 1st or 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable CPU, the Tyan Thunder SX GT62FB5630 B5630G62FV10HR server features 10x SATA 6Gb/s drive bays at the front of the chassis. Aside from supporting the common DIMM types seen on servers, the system also supports Intel Optane DC Persistent memory modules, leveraging advanced technology from Intel to provide a smooth path for high-speed computing.
Outfitted with a single Intel Xeon Scalable processor from the first-generation or second-generation, this configuration is compatible with CPUs with up to 205W. The processor supports up to 28 cores and six memory channels with speeds of up to 2933MHz. Only 2nd generation Intel Scalable CPUs, offer support for data centric persistent memory modules (DCPMM) and maximum memory speeds of 2933MHz.
Compared to the other systems in the Thunder SX GT62FB5630 family, the Tyan B5630G62FV10HR is an all-SATA drive bay server. If needed, these drives can be converted to SAS with use of a discrete HD/RAID controller. The 10x 2.5-inch drive bays are hot-swappable and can be configured with hard disk drives or SSDs.
To either side of the processor are 6x memory channels, with 2x module slots per channel, for a total of 12x active memory module slots. The Thunder SX GT62FB5630 B5630G62FV10HR server supports Intel Optane DC Persistent memory modules, but only when specific 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors are installed. In addition, the system offers support for RDIMM 3DS and LRDIMM 3DS, which will provide a maximum capacity of 1,536GB of memory. LRDIMMs support up to 768GB, while RDIMMs will only provide half of that memory. Depending on which type of memory and processor is installed, memory speeds can range from 2666MHz to 2933MHz.
A preinstalled riser card on the Tyan GT62FB5630 B5630G62FV10HR supports a PCIe Gen3 x16 slot and a dedicated PCIe Gen3 x8 OCP 2.0 slot will support an optional mezzanine card. In addition, there is a storage mezzanine card with 2x PCIe x8 OCuLink connectors to support 4x NVMe ports.
A 1Gb RJ45 LAN port on the back of the chassis is dedicated for the baseboard management controller (BMC) to access the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) architecture. This provides local and remote management of the system. iKVM is also supported along with Redfish API to deliver simple and secure management of infrastructure assets.
Designed for hybrid NVMe and SATA cache storage applications, the Intel-based platform offers plenty of configurability at only 1U in height. Powered by a single Intel Xeon Scalable processor from the first- or second-generation, the Tyan Thunder SX GT62FB5630 B5630G62FV10HR can reach memory speeds of up to 2933MHz. With support for 10x hot-swap 2.5-inch SATA drives the 1U platform also supports 12x DIMM sockets which can be populated with up to 1.5TB of memory.
