Designed for cloud computing and server storage, the Tyan Thunder SX GT62HB7106 B7106G62HE10HR server has 10x switchless 2.5-inch NVMe U.2 storage bays up front. It features Intel’s second-generation Xeon Scalable Processors and up to 768GB of memory.
Compatible with Redfish API, the Tyan Thunder SX GT62HB7106 B7106G62HE10HR server can be integrated with third-party hardware to easily add more all-flash storage to your network. The 1U form factor also makes this an easy install if you only have a little space left in the enclosure.
Powered by dual Intel 2nd Generation Xeon Scalable processors, this 1U system supports Intel’s platinum lineup for top tier performance. However, CPUs are limited to a configurable thermal design point (cTDP) of 165W. Each processor supports 6x memory channels and 8x memory module sockets for a total of 16x active sockets with both processors installed. Two 800W power supply units operate in a 1+1 configuration for redundancy and resiliency.
Memory supported includes DDR4 registered (RDIMM), load-reduced (LRDIMM), and 3DS RDIMM and LRDIMM memory modules, but they cannot be mixed. Additionally, Data-Centric Persistent Memory Modules (DCPMM), also known as Intel Optane memory modules, are also supported, but only using specific 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors. Depending on your choice of memory, the system will support up to 768GB at speeds of 2666MHz to 2933MHz depending on your applications requirements.
Up to 10x switchless NVMe U.2 drives can be installed in the 2.5-inch drive bays up front. Virtual RAID on CPU (vROC) is supported, offering basic RAID configurations for SSDs depending on your choice of standard, premium, or Intel SSD. There is a single M.2 NVMe connector with a PCIe interface on the system board.
Along with a PCIe slot on the system board for the M.2 storage device, this platform has 2x PCIe x16 half-height, half-length slots. There are also a few pre-installed cards for including an HBA storage mezzanine card with OCulink connectors plus a dedicated connector for an OCP card offering additional I/O network ports.
Onboard management for at-chassis and remote management of the system is handled by the Onboard Aspeed AST2500 management module. A dedicated RJ45 port on the back of the system provides access and is IPMI 2.0 compliant with the baseboard management controller (BMC).
