The Tyan Transport CX GC68AB8056 B8056G68AE12HR-2T Server is a 1U system designed with a single CPU socket. Providing the compute is an AMD EPYC 9004 Series processor feature PCIe 5.0, DDR5 memory modules for even greater bandwidth. Designed for Cloud Server applications, there are 12x NVMe U.2 drive bays on the front of the server and a maximum memory capacity of up to 3TB.
Target applications include Big Data Analytics, in-memory database, data visualization and steaming data processing to name a few. With just a single AMD EPYC 9004 Series CPU, the Tyan Transport CX GC68AB8056 B8056G68AE12HR-2T Server can support a total of 24x DIMM slots, which have a maximum memory capacity of up to 3TB. The front of the chassis houses 24x hot-swappable U.2 NVMe drive bays. On the rear of the system there are 2x PCIe Gen5 x16 slots. Powering this system are 2x 850W hot-swap redundant 80 Plus Platinum PSUs.
A single AMD EPYC 9004 Series processor is compatible with the Tyan GC68A-B8056 B8056G68AE12HR-2T, and is the next generation beyond the 7003 series AMD EPYC processors. The hardware design restricts the CPU to a Thermal Design Point (TDP) of up to 300W providing up to 84x physical cores and 168x virtual threads. AMD EPYC 9004 Series processors deliver PCIe Gen5 and 12-memory channel architecture for greater throughput compared to the previous AMD EPYC 7003 Series processors. Compared to comparable Intel-based systems these processors also provide better power efficiency.
The hybrid backplane supports hot swap 12x 2.5-inch NVMe U.2, with 4x 2.5-inxh SAS/SATA ports. The system board of the Tyan B8056G68AE12HR-2T Server also houses 2x PCIe Gen4 22110/2280 M.2 drive slots for fast access storage or OS installation.
Compatible memory modules for the Tyan GC68AB8056 B8056G68AE12HR-2T Server include Registered DIMMs (RDIMM) as well as 3DS RDIMMs. Fully configured, the maximum memory capacity on this system is up to 3TB using 24x 128GB RDMM or 3DS RDIMM DDR5 memory modules. Memory speeds supported on this system include 4800MHz, 4400MHz, and 4000MHz.
System expansion is achieved through 2x PCIe Gen5 x16 slots found on the rear of the chassis. PCIe 5.0 offers data transfer speeds that are twice that of PCIe 4.0, and also provides double the gigatransfers and frequency. PCIe 4.0 cards are still compatible with the 5.0 interface, and vice versa as it is a direct successor. However, data transfer rates will default to the slower speed. In order to connect this server to the rest of your IT infrastructure, the system has 2x integrated 10GbE ports via Intel X710-AT2 with options for additional I/O provided by the expansion slots.
Tyan provides many different options for server management. There is a dedicated 1GbE port for the Intelligent Platform Management Interface, which grants access to remote and at chassis management capabilities. The onboard chipset is the Aspeed AST2600.
