Just like the other configurations based on the TN76AB8242 chassis, the Tyan Transport HX TN76AB8242 B8242T76AV18E8HR-2V server supports dual AMD EPYC 7002 series processors. The main difference between this one and the other configurations is support for up to 8x NVMe U.2 drives plus up to 18 SATA storage devices.
With dual AMD EPYC processors and support for U.2 NVMe drives up front, the Tyan Transport HX TN76AB8242 B8242T76AV18E8HR-2V server is a great option for in-memory database and Big Data applications. It supports a large memory footprint and can also be applied to support any number of high-performance computing applications depending on how the system is configured. It has dual integrated 25GBase SFP28 LAN ports in back.

Two AMD EPYC 7001 or 7002 series processors are supported but only to a thermal design point (TDP) threshold of 180W. Each processor supports 8x memory channels with two memory modules per channel and 16x memory module slots per CPU on the Tyan Transport HX B8242T76AV18E8HR-2V Server.
There are 26 drive bays up front with 8x dedicated for NVMe U.2 drives plus up to 18x 6Gb SATA drive bays. Running NVMe drives add not only speed but resiliency by protecting your data in the event of a power failure. The other 18 SATA drives can use the onboard controller. For SAS implementations you will need an additional HD/RAID controller.
With each CPU in charge of 16x memory module slots, there are a total of 32x active memory module slots in a two-processor configuration. Up to 4TB of DDR4 ECC registered (RDIMM) and load reduced (LRDIMM) memory modules are supported. Depending on your choice of processor memory speeds between 2400MHz and 2666MHz are supported.
There is a total of 6x expansion slots on the system board plus a dedicated slot for support of an OCP card. A pre-installed Tyan mezzanine card provides connections for the 8x NVMe U.2 drives up front. On the back of the Tyan TN76AB8242 B8242T76AV18E8HR-2V Server are two integrated 25GbE LAN ports and a dedicated port for the integrated platform management interface or IPMI.
The dedicated IPMI interface provides access to the AST2500 server management module for remote and at chassis management of the Tyan B8242T76AV18E8HR-2V Server. It’s Redfish API compatible.
With the Tyan Transport HX TN76AB8242 TN76AB8242 B8242T76AV18E8HR-2V Server you can support a range of high-performance applications including AI, Big Data and in-memory data base. NVMe drives provide another layer of resiliency and speed to your network. With the IPMI 2.0 compatible management interface, it’s also compatible with other third-party vendor hardware.
