The Tyan Transport SX TN70AB8026 B8026T70AV18E8HR is a 2U form factor rackmount server with a single-socket, featuring a hybrid storage system. The server supports up to 16x DIMM slots with up to 1,024GB of memory, as well as up to 26x drive bays. With a single AMD EPYC processor, the server is able to accommodate 16x memory module slots with speeds reaching up to 2666MHz.
To drive performance, the Tyan B8026T70AV18E8HR server supports a single AMD EPYC 7001 or 7002 series CPU with 8, 16, 24, or 32 cores. The AMD processor has a 7nm manufacturing process, and this particular chassis is limited to a maximum thermal design power (TDP) of 180W. Additionally, the CPU features eight memory channels for a total of 16x memory module slots.
The Transport SX TN70AB8026 B8026T70AV18E8HR storage server offers 24x hot-swappable 2.5-inch drive bays across the front panel, plus 2x hot-swappable 2.5-inch drive bays in the rear of the chassis. On the front of the system, 8x slots can be reserved for NVMe U.2, with the remaining 16x bays supporting SATA drives at 6Gb/s. The pair in the rear also supports SATA drives at 6Gb/s. All drive bays can be outfitted with HDD or SSD storage devices. In addition to the storage bays, the B8026T70AV18E8HR server also features 2x M.2 connectors with OCuLink connectors. M.2 connectors support NVMe only when an AMD EPYC 7002 series processor is deployed in all configurations. For support of SAS drives a discrete HD/RAID controller is required.
Outfitted with 8x memory module slots to either side of the single AMD EPYC processor, there are 16 active memory slots in total. The Tyan Transport SX B8026T70AV18E8HR server supports both DDR4 ECC registered (RDIMM) or load-reduced (LRDIMM) memory modules. With all slots populated, the Tyan TN70AB8026 B8026T70AV18E8HR server supports up to 1,024GB of memory running at 2400 to 2666MHz, depending on your choice of processor. Memory speed is dependent on the speed of the processor and memory modules.
There are 2x PCIe Gen3 x16 slots for full-height, full-length cards and one PCIe Gen3 x8 slot via riser cards. The Transport SX B8026T70AV18E8HR also has a dedicated slot for support of an optional PCIe Gen3 x16 OCP 2.0 mezzanine card.
To manage the system, the AST2500 IPMI feature uses an IPMI 2.0 compliant baseboard management controller (BMC) with a 10/100/1000 Mb/s MAC interface. The BMC offers at-chassis management or remote management through the dedicated 1GbE port on the back of the system. The AST2500 iKVM feature also supports a 24-bit high quality video compression, and supports storage over IP and remote platform-flash, as well as a USB 2.0 virtual hub.
At 2U, the Tyan Transport SX TN70AB8026 B8026T70AV18E8HR server offers 26x flexible storage bays that are compatible with SAS, SATA, and NVMe storage mediums. Powered by a single AMD EPYC processor from either the first- or second-generation, this system supports up to 1,024GB when all 16x memory module slots are populated with 64GB memory modules.
