The Supermicro SuperBlade 4129P-C2N Server is a dual socket system compatible with 1st or 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. The server is designed to be housed in a Supermicro SuperBlade Enclosure. Dual CPU sockets support 8x DIMM slots each for a total of 16x DIMM slots on the system board. Two hot-pluggable hybrid drive bays can be found on the front of the system along with an additional single PCIe x4 M.2 slot.
Dual 1st or 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors are compatible with the Supermicro SuperBlade 4129P-C2N server. Supermicro SuperBlade Enclosure 820C and 820J families can support up to 20x of these dual socket servers. This particular SuperBlade offers a total of 16x DIMM slots on the system board along with a single PCIe x4 M.2 slot. An add-on Mezzanine card can also be used to support additional M.2 slots.

The motherboard of the Supermicro 4129P-C2N Server supports dual CPU sockets compatible with 1st (Cascade Lake) or 2nd (Sky Lake) Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. Due to hardware limitations, the Thermal Design Point (TDP) of this system includes processors with an output of up to 205W, which includes the whole product line. CPUs supported on this platform include the Platinum and Gold families and can have up to 28x physical cores and 56x virtual threads. Each CPU supports 6x memory channels.
The front of the Supermicro 4129P-C2N Node holds dual hot-pluggable 2.5-inch hybrid drive bays that support NVMe/SAS3/SATA3 drives. The system board also houses a single PCIe x4 M.2 slot offering fast access storage for the system OS. An add on Mezzanine Card supporting 4x PCIe x4 M.2 slots can be used for additional superfast storage.
There are a total of 16x DIMM slots on the system board of the Supermicro 4129O-C2N node. Fully configured, this system supports 4TB of memory when every DIMM slot is populated with 256GB ECC DDR4-2933MHz modules. Speeds of 2933MHz, 2666MHz, 2400MHz are supported on this system. Intel Optane data centric persistent memory modules (DCPMM) are also supported but only using 2nd Generation Cascade Lake CPUs.
Compatible Supermicro SuperBlade enclosure include the SBE 820C and SBE 820J families, which offer optional I/O modules for different port options and connection speeds. Each of these enclosures have a different number of I/O Modules that connect directly to the server node through the midplane. One or two Chassis Management Modules are available depending on your choice of enclosure, and grant access to the dedicated management module.
To manage the Supermicro 4129P-C2N Server Node, the compatible Supermicro SuperBlade 820C and 820J families grant access to the Aspeed AST2500 Baseboard Management Controller (BMC). Each SuperBlade Enclosure houses 1x or 2x Chassis Management Modules (CMM). The server also supports the Integrated Platform Management Interface (IPMI) 2.0 which is compatible with KVM over IP and Virtual Media over LAN.
Outfitted with dual 1st or 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable, the Supermicro SuperBlade 4129P-C2N offers 2x hot-pluggable drive bays along with 1x NVMe M.2 slot on the system board. An additional 4x NVMe M.2 slots are available via a Mezzanine Card. Each socket supports 8x DIMM slots for a total of 16x DIMM slots on the system board. Up to 20 of these dual socket server nodes can be installed in a compatible SuperBlade Enclosure offering high-density compute for for high-performance computing applications.
