Compatible with the Supermicro SuperBlade Enclosure 820C and 820J families, the Supermicro SuperBlade 8149P-T8N Server supports up to four 1st or 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. The quad socket motherboard features 48x DIMM slots divided evenly between the sockets. 8x hot-pluggable 2.5-inch/7mm NVMe drive bays are available on the front of the system or it can be configured with 4x 2.5-inch/15mm SATA3 and 4x 2.5-inch/15mm SATA/NVMe drive bays.
4x 1st or 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors can populate the Supermicro SuperBlade 8149P-T8N Server. Up to 10x Supermicro 8149P-T8N Servers can be installed in the Supermicro SuperBlade Enclosure (SBE) 820C and 820J enclosure families, each of which has an 8U form factor. This particular server node supports 48x DIMM slots distributed evenly between the four sockets. The front of the system is equipped with either 8x 2.5-inch hot-pluggable NVMe drive bays or a combination of 4x SATA3 with 4x NVMe drive. Supermicro Enclosures provide the power, cooling, networking, and management while the compatible server nodes provide the compute, memory, and storage. This system is optimized for support of high-performance computing (HPC), virtualization, financial services, and a range of other applications.

The motherboard architecture of the Supermicro SuperBlade 8149P-T8N supports 4x 1st or 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. Because of the hardware limitations present on the system, the Thermal Design Point (TDP) supports CPUs with a power output up to 165W. The Platinum and Gold Processors supported on this system can provide up to 28x Physical Cores and 56x Virtual Threads. Each processor support 6x memory channels.
8x hot-pluggable 2.5-inch drive bays on the front of the Supermicro 8149P-T8N node can be configured with all NVMe storage or a combination of 4x SATA3 plus 4x NVMe drives. For fast-access storage or to support the OS there are 2x PCIe x4 slots that can be outfitted with PCIe M.2 drives.
With 48x DIMM slots split between the four CPU sockets, it can support a maximum memory configuration of 12TB. This is achieved with 264GB Registered DIMMs (RDIMMs) or Load-Reduced (LRDIMMs) in all memory module slots. Memory speeds supported on this system include 2933MHz, 2666MHz, or 2400MHz depending on system configuration and the speed of the memory modules installed. Data centric persistent memory modules are also supported offering greater resiliency and speed.
The Supermicro SuperBlade 8149P-T8N Server is compatible with the Supermicro SuperBlade Enclosure 820C and 820J families. Each enclosure offers a different number of I/O modules, which support different port options and connection speeds. The server node itself has dual 10GbE and a mezzanine card slot that can support optional InfiniBand Intel Omni-path and will connect to the enclosure I/O modules via the midplane. Depending on the chassis enclosure chosen, 1x or 2x Chassis Management Module are supported.
To manage the Supermicro 8149P-T8N Server node, the compatible SuperBlade Enclosures grant access to the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) in each of the installed server nodes. The SME 820J family supports 1x or 2x Chassis Management Modules (CMM), while the 820C family only has 1x. The server node has an Aspeed AST2500 baseboard management controller (BMC) which is compatible with Integrated Platform Management Interface (IPMI) 2.0 and grants access to KVM over IP and Virtual Media over LAN.
Up to 10x Supermicro SuperBlade 8149P-T8N 4-socket server nodes can be installed in either of the supported SuperBlade Enclosures, providing a dense platform for support of high-performance computing applications. Each of the 4x sockets supports 12x DIMM slots for a total of 48x active DIMM slots on the system board and the potential for up to 12TB of memory. The front of the holds either 8x 2.5-inch hot-pluggable NVMe drive bays or 4x 15mm SATA3 plus 4x NVMe drives.
