This 2U 2x socket Tyan Thunder SX TS65B7120 B7120T65V10E4HR server is designed as a self-contained AI Inference platform. It features 12x 3.5-inch drive bays up front with support for hybrid storage, including SATA, SAS, and NVMe U.2 hot-swap drive formats. On the back of the chassis, there are an additional 2x 2.5" SATA hot-swap drive bays.
This is an Intel 3rd generation Xeon Scalable processor-based platform with support for 12x up front 3.5-inch bays that can also easily be outfitted using 2.5-inch hot swap drives with the easy-to-use tool-less drive trays. Two more 2.5-inch hot-swap rear drive bays support SATA drives. As an AI Inference platform, the Tyan Thunder SX TS65B7120 B7120T65V10E4HR server supports artificial intelligence processing to deliver results for facial and fingerprint recognition, among other uses.

Outfitted with one or two 3rd generation Platinum or Gold Intel Xeon Scalable processors, this system offers PCIe 4.0 and up to 8x memory channels per socket. PCIe 4.0 delivers twice the throughput compared to PCIe 3.0 and delivers greater bandwidth for high-performance I/O and PCIe-based storage options.
Storage bays on the Tyan barebones TS65B7120 B7120T65V10E4HR server are color coded with light and dark blue drive tray release tabs indicating support for different drive types. The 4x light blue tabs on the front panel indicate support for NVMe U.2 hot-swap drive formats. The 8x dark blue tabs indicate support for SAS or SATA drive formats. Although, if implementing SAS storage you will need a discrete SAS card. 2x more hot-swap 2.5-inch storage bays can be found in back of the server and can be used to support the OS or for storage. There are also 2x NVMe PCIe Gen 3.0 slots on the system board. Virtual RAID on CPU is supported with a simple hardware key.
There are 16x memory modules slots divided equally between the two processors. With 8x memory module slots and 8x memory channels per processor each memory module operates in a single memory channel for improved memory performance. Registered (RDIMM) and Load-Reduced (LRDIMM) memory modules will provide up to 2TB and 4TB respectively, while 3DS RDIMM and LRDIMM modules offer a staking die architecture that will support up to 4TB of memory. Memory modules supported on this system support transfer speeds of up to 3200MT/s.
5x half-height, half- length PCIe 4.0 slots provide 2x x8 slots and 3x x16 slots for additional high-performance connectivity or superfast PCIe storage options. There are also 2x x4 PCIe 3.0 slots on the system board for support of NVMe M.2 drives. The system features dual GbE ports and single GbE Lan port dedicated access for management of the system.
A small control panel in the right server ear has tell-tale lights indicating the health status of the various components. Featuring a dedicated link to the Aspeed AST2600 baseboard management controller (BMC), this system is also integrated platform management interface 2.0 (IPMI 2.0) compliant and offers iKVM support. It offers system monitoring for temperature and voltage on the CPUs, memory, chipset and power supplies. Tyan’s proprietary Watchdog application provides more tools for managing the system.
