Other GA88B8021 Chassis ConfigurationsTen fans are scattered around the 1U Tyan B8021G88V2HR-2T-RM-N system to provide adequate airflow to the GPUs and other hardware components. 2x power supplies units offer redundancy with a Delta output that has a maximum output of 1600W and an 80 plus Platinum efficiency. A single AMD EPYC processor from the 7001 (Naples) or 7002 (Rome) series powers the system. AMD processors can meet the needs of businesses whether they’re dealing with enterprise applications, hyper-converged networks, or data analytic applications. With up to 32 cores and 64 threads, the CPU supports 16x memory module slots for a maximum capacity of up to 2TB of memory.
Outfitted with a single AMD EPYC processor, the Tyan GA88B8021 B8021G88V2HR-2T-RM-N supports 16x active memory module slots. It features 8x memory channels and supports DDR4 ECC registered (RDIMM), load-reduced (LRDIMM), and LRDIMM 3DS memory modules. RDIMMs support up to 2,048GB, LRDIMMs support up to 1,024GB, and LRDIMM 3DS supports up to 2,048GB of memory. Memory speeds range from 2400MHz to 2666MHz, but actual memory speed depends on memory population topology and the supported speed of the memory and CPU. All memory must be the same type and density, they cannot be mixed and matched.
The system supports two 2.5-inch SATA drive bays on the front right side of the sleek chassis. These drive bays can be configured as hard disk drives or SSDs and are hot-swappable. The EPYC CPU enables the drives to have a SAS speed of 12Gb/s or SATA at 6Gb/s. The motherboard also supports two NVMe or SATA M.2 ports with a 22110-maximum length if additional storage is needed or to support an OS or hypervisor.
The system supports up to 6x single-wide GPUs or 4x double-wide GPUs scattered throughout the chassis. As stated in the previous section, the Transport HX GA88B8021 B8021G88V2HR-2T-RM-N server supports two NVMe or SATA M.2 slots for additional storage. This system also supports 2x GbE LAN ports and a dedicated management port.
The rear of the chassis has thermal holes on the left and redundant power supplies on the right. In the middle, there are three LAN ports, one specifically dedicated to IPMI 2.0. The server features AST2500 base management controller (BMC) with Redfish support to manage the system’s processor, memory, fans, and power supplies at-chassis or remotely.
