Delta 1,600 Watts; 4x DW GPU; 2x 10GbE; 2x NVMe M.2
The single-socket powering this system is compatible with AMD EPYC processors from the 7001 (Naples) or 7002 (Rome) family of processors. EPYC processors on this system support up to 32 cores and 64 threads with a TDP of up to 180W. The CPU also supports up to 16x memory module slots with up to 2TB of memory. The hardware components in the chassis are cooled by five fans behind the honeycomb bezel, one fan next to the two SATA hard drives, and two sets of two fans in the middle of the chassis between the GPUs, for a total of 10x fans. Redundant Chicony branded power supplies provide a maximum output of 1600W. The other system in the GA88B8021 family, the B8021G88V2HR-2T-RM-N, uses a Delta branded PSU. Delta and Chicony are not interchangeable parts, the required power supply module must be used.
The CPU features 8 memory channels, with two memory slots per channel, for a total of 16x DIMM slots on the system board. The slots can be populated with DDR4 ECC registered (RDIMM), load-reduced (LRDIMM), and LRDIMM 3DS memory modules. RDIMMs and LRDIMM 3DS support up to 2048GB, while LRDIMM supports up to 1024GB. All memory modules must be the same type and density and cannot be mixed.
On the front of the 1U system there are two 2.5-inch SATA storage bays towards the right side of the panel, next to the LEDs. The hot-swap drive bays can be configured for hard disk drives (HDD) or SSDs with speeds reaching 12Gb/s for SAS or 6Gb/s with SATA. In addition to the two drives, there are two M.2 ports on the motherboard with support for NVMe or SATA if more storage is needed or to support an OS or hypervisor.
Under the hood, the Transport HX GA88B8021 B8021G88V2HR-2T-RM-N2 supports up to 6x single-wide GPUs or 4x double-wide GPUs. The server’s default configuration accommodates 4x PCIe Gen3 x16 slots with full-height, double-wide, 10.5”L specifications, plus one PCIe Gen3 x16 slot with full-height, half-length-single-width specifications. For additional storage, there are two M.2 slots on the motherboard for NVMe or SATA storage devices. There are 2x 10GbE ports for networking and a single dedicated GbE port for the integrated platform management interface (IPMI)
The GbE port provides dedicated access to the IPMI 2.0 to secure, control, and manage the server. The platform also features AST2500 baseboard management controller (BMC) with Redfish support that provides a RESTful interface for the management of servers, storage, networking, and converged infrastructure.
The Tyan Transport HX GA88B8021 B8021G88V2HR-2T-RM-N2 server features up to 6x GPUs, two SATA storage bays, plus two M.2 slots, all powered by a single AMD EPYC processor. This server supports first- or second-generation AMD EPYC CPUs with a TDP of up to 180W. At 1U, this system can provide flexible features for businesses looking to leverage high-performance computing applications.
*Actual memory speed depends on memory population topology
*Delta and Chicony are not interchangeable parts. Please use the required power supply module as indicated in the user's manual.
