As a single socket AMD EPYC platform, administrators have the flexibility to choose a processor with 8 to 32 cores. The Tyan B8026G62FE10HR chassis supports first- and second-generation CPUs based on the 14nm Zen architecture with up to 64 threads, featuring eight memory channels and up to 16x memory module slots. With only a single AMD EPYC processor, this allows users to increase savings on CPU cost, power consumption, and potential software licensing fees. Powering the system are two redundant 650W power supplies that are 80 plus platinum rated, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
Under the hood, the system has 16x DIMM slots with a maximum capacity of up to 1,024GB (1TB) across 8x memory channels. The motherboard supports DDR4 ECC registered (RDIMM) or load-reduced (LRDIMM) memory modules with speeds of up to 2666MHz, depending on the CPU used. This platform does not support LRDIMM when AMD EPYC 7002 series processors are deployed in all configurations.
Lining the front of the B8026G62FE10HR chassis are 10x hot-swap NVMe U.2 drive bays for an all-flash storage server. In addition to the 10x NVMe drive bays, there are also two M.2 NVMe slots on the motherboard allowing users to install an OS without losing any of the front drive bays.
In terms of expansion, the Transport SX GT62FB8026 B8026G62FE10HR system features an OCP 2.0 mezzanine PCI-Express Gen3 slot, and two riser cards each with one PCIe x16 slot. As mentioned above, there are also two M.2 slots for additional storage. Two GbE LAN ports are provided on the back of the system, plus a dedicated GbE port for the integrated platform management interface (IPMI). I/O on the system can be expanded with the addition of network controller cards in the available PCIe slots.
One of those LAN ports on the back of the system is dedicated to the Integrated Platform Management Interface (IPMI 2.0). The server features AST2500 BMC with Redfish support to monitor the hardware and take inventory at-chassis or remotely.
Ideal for high-speed data streaming and content distribution applications that benefit from fast flash storage, the Tyan Transport SX GT62FB8026 B8026G62FE10HR is an all-NVMe storage system with M.2 support. At 1U, the platform features a single AMD EPYC processor from either the 7001 or 7002 series. In addition, there are 16x DIMM slots with up to 1TB of memory running at speeds of up to 2666MHz, depending on the processor’s generation.
