The CPU supports 8x memory channels with 2x memory module slots per channel for 16x memory slots total. Registered (RDIMM) and load-reduced (LRDIMM) memory modules are supported offering 2TB and 4TB respectively using 3DS memory modules. Depending on your choice of memory modules and CPU, memory can run at up to 3200MT/s.
26x SATA storage bays line the front of the Transport SX TS65AB8036 B8036T65AV28HR-LE, plus an additional 2x SATA storage bays in a special drive carrier accessible from the rear of the chassis. 2x NVMe M.2 drives are also supported on the system board, which can be configured for redundancy to support the OS. SAS drives supporting transfer speeds of 12Gb/s can be installed in all front drive bays, but require an optional HBA/RAID controller.
AMD EPYC 7002/7003 processors offer PCIe 4.0 compatibility for twice the bandwidth compared to PCIe 3.0. There are 4x FH/FL PCIe slots plus a single HH/HL slot on the pre-installed TYAN risers.
Using an integrated platform management interface 2.0 (IPMI 2.0) compliant baseboard management controller (BMC), the Aspeed AST2500 management module monitors temperature, voltage, memory, and power. Additional apps, such as Watchdog, megaRAC, and Redfish API, offer a more user-friendly graphic interface that can be accessed using a conventional browser.
