With a single SP3 socket, the Tyan Transport SX TS65B8036 B8036T65V12E2HR-LE Server supports the AMD EPYC 2nd (ROME) and 3rd generation (MILAN) processors. This system is a hybrid storage solution with 12x hot-swappable external drive bays on the front, plus to 2x small form factor drive bays in the rear. The system motherboard also supports 2x Gen4 PCIe x8 slots.
With a single SP3 socket, the Tyan B8036T65V10E4HR Server supports AMD’s 2nd or 3rd generation EPYC processors, code name ROME and MILAN respectively. This particular chassis supports 8x LFF SATA drive bays and 4x U.2 NVMe drive bays, for 12x bays total on the front of the system. In addition to the front drive bays there are two more storage bays located on the back of the system. 16 DIMM slots provide up to 4TB of memory.

You can install a single AMD 2nd or 3rd Gen processor with a maximum Thermal Design Power Wattage of 240W. Both the 2nd and 3rd Gen EPYC processors offer a maximum of 64 cores, with the newer MILAN CPUs delivering a 19% increase in I/O performance. To make sure unexpected power supply failures do not adversely affect your company’s operations, there are two 850W or 800W PSUs operating in 1 + 1 redundancy.
There are 12x 3.5-inch LFF storage bays on the front of the Tyan TS65B8036 B8036T65V10E4HR Server. The drive bays support 8x SATA drives for high-capacity storage, and the other four drive bays support U.2 NVMe storage devices for faster access storage. On the rear of the system, two 2.5-inch small form factor drive bays for SSDs can support the OS or can be used for additional storage. The SATA and NVMe storage controller comes directly from AMD’s EPYC CPU.
On either side of the processor socket there are eight DIMM slots, for a total of 16 DIMM slots. Registered (RDIMM) and Load Reduced (LRDIMM) DIMM modules are both compatible with the Tyan B8036T65V10E4HR Server as well as 3DS DIMMs. memory speeds of up to 3200MHz are supported depending on your choice of processor. In terms of capacity, RDIMM modules can be configured at a maximum of 2TB while LRDIMM modules at up to 4TB.
The S8036GM2NE motherboard has two PCIe Gen4 x24 slots to support Tyan’s reinstalled riser cards offering up to 6x PCIe 4.0 x8 PCIe slots. Tyan provides riser cards that come pre-installed onto the system. The Tyan B8036T65V10E4HR Server also has LAN capabilities with two separate GbE ports, plus an additional GbE port for the Intelligent Platform Management Interface. A separate OCP 2.0 mezzanine card provides additional network ports and network connection speeds.
Tyan provides system management through the Intelligent Platform Management Interface can be accessed through the dedicated GbE port on the rear of the system. LEDs on the front of the system also indicate whether temperatures are normal or if there is fan or PSU failure.
The Tyan Transport SX TS65B8036 B8036T65V10E4HR Server is more than capable of supporting a variety of hybrid storage applications within the datacenter. It features a total of 14x external drive bays between the front and rear of the system, and the single socket can support either a 2nd or 3rd Gen AMD EPYC processor for up to 4TB of memory.
