With a single SP3 socket, the Tyan Transport SX TS65B8036 B8036T65V12E2HR-LE Server supports the AMD EPYC 2nd (ROME) and 3rd generation (MILAN) processors. This system is a hybrid storage solution with 12x hot-swappable external drive bays on the front, plus to 2x small form factor drive bays in the rear. The system motherboard also supports 2x Gen4 PCIe x8 slots.
The Tyan Transport SX TS65B8036 B8036T65V12E2HR-LE is housed in a 2U form factor with the main portion of its drive bays on the front of the system. Two rear drive bays feature small form factor SSDs or HDDs. There are 16 DIMM slots supported on this system via the 8 memory channels. Offering dense up-front storage and a single processor, this is a great platform for use as a storage server.

A 3rd generation AMD EPYC processor will deliver up to 64 cores and a maximum Thermal Design Power (TDP) of 280W. Meanwhile the compatible 2nd generation EPYC processors are limited to 48 cores and a TDP of up to 240W. To account for unforeseen power outages, two 850W/800W power supplies can be found on this system offering 1 + 1 redundancy.
As a hybrid storage solution, the Tyan B8036T65V12E2HR-LE Server chassis houses 12x external drive bays on the front including two bays for NVMe storage devices and the remaining drive bays supporting SATA natively. These drive bays support both small and large form factor HDDs and SSDs. There are an additional two drive bays on the rear of the system for support of the OS or for use as additional storage. Two M.2 connectors on the system board can support either SATA or NVMe M.2 drive.
With AMD’s EPYC processors, the Zen 2 or Zen 3 architecture supports 8x memory channels. Each channel can be outfitted with 2 DIMM slots for a total of 16 active DIMM slots on the Tyan B8036T65V12E2HR-LE Server. RDIMMs, RDIMM 3DS, LRDIMMs, and LRDIMM 3DS are supported on this system with a speed of up to 3200 MHz depending on your choice of CPU. Maximum memory capacity supported on this system is also a factor of the memory type used but tops out at 4TB.
Two PCIe Gen4 x8 slots can be found on the Tyan TS65B8036 B8036T65V12E2HR-LE Server. Tyan also pre-installs riser cards on these PCIe slots for any future expansions. There are 2x 1GbE ports on the rear of this system, plus a dedicated RJ45 port for use by the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI). The rear of the system also has two USB3.1 Gen1 slots.
Management on the Tyan Transport B8036T65V12E2HR-LE Server is handled by the onboard Aspeed AST2500 chipset. Access to these management features is provided by the dedicated IPMI port on the rear of the system. This system is also Redfish API compatible for use with other 3rd party hardware.
