The Gigabyte G482-Z53 platform is a SATA-based server featuring up to 8x PCIe Gen4 GPGPU cards with support from the latest AMD EPYC 3rd Gen processors, also known as “Milan.” With 32x DIMMs slots providing up to 8TB of memory, this system offers more memory capacity, performance, and bandwidth for high-performance computing, AI, and AI training and inference.
Ideal for the most compute intensive applications, the 4U Gigabyte G482-Z53 GPU server features dual AMD EPYC 2nd or 3rd generation processors and supports memory speeds of up to 3200MHz, up to 8TB of memory, plus the newest PCIe 4.0 technology for modern data center deployments.
Gigabyte G482-Z51 GPU Server
2x AMD EPYC 7002/7003, 8x PCIe 4.0 GPUs, 8TB mem., 10x 2.5" SATA
Dual sockets on the MZ52-G40 motherboard support two AMD EPYC 7002 or 7003 series processors. With a 7nm architecture, the EPYC CPUs feature up to 64 cores and 128 threads per processor. Each CPU installed on this system has a thermal design point (TDP) of up to 225W and a cTDP of up to 240W. If only one CPU is installed, some PCIe or memory deployments will not function.
There are 2x DIMMs per channel, with 8x channels per CPU, for a total of 32x active memory module slots with both processors installed. This server can be configured with up to 8TB of memory depending on the type of memory modules installed. Up to 128GB per memory module slot are supported with RDIMM and LRDIMM modules, for a total of 4TB of memory. Meanwhile, 3DS RDIMM and 3DS LRDIMM support memory module capacities of up to 256GB per module for a maximum of 8TB of memory. memory speeds will range from 2933 to 3200 MHz, depending on the memory type.
The Gigabyte G482-Z53 server only supports SATA drives with a 6Gb/s connection speed. On the front panel, there are 8x 2.5” hot-swappable drive bays with blue release tabs. These drive bays can be configured to support either hard disk drives or solid-state drives, but only the SATA drive format is supported.
As part of the G-Series platforms, the G482-Z53 system leverages the AMD EPYC architecture with 128 PCIe 4.0 lanes to support up to 8x GPUs, plus an additional low-profile PCIe 4.0 x16 expansion slot near the rear of the chassis. The server can be configured with various AMD, NVIDIA, Xilinx, and Qualcomm GPUs.
Just above the drive bays on the front panel, there are two RJ45 ports to support the ASPEED AST2500 baseboard management controller (BMC). This allows users to remotely gain access to the server. Gigabyte also offers the Gigabyte Management Console (GMC) for BMC server management via a web browser. You can also download the Gigabyte Server Management (GSM) software, which allows administrators to effortlessly monitor and manage many servers.
Supporting the latest technology, the Gigabyte G482-Z53 GPU server utilizes dual AMD EPYC 7002 or 7003 processors operating with 128 PCIe Gen4 lanes. The CPUs are capable of supporting 32x memory modules with up to 8TB of memory and speeds of up to 3200MHz. Because of its support for up to 8x GPGPUs, this server is ideal for high-performance computing, virtualization, data analytics, and much more.
