The Supermicro SuperBlade 620P-1C3N server node features dual 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. Supermicro designed this system for Cloud Services, Simulation and Modeling, AI Inferencing, and High-Performance Computing. This SuperBlade can only be installed in the Supermicro SuperBlade Enclosure 610J-822, 610J-622, and 610J-422 chassis. The blade houses 3x hybrid drive bays and up to 8TB of memory.
Offering dual socket performance, the Supermicro SuperBlade 620P-1C3N server node can handle a multitude of tasks such as Cloud Services, Simulation and Modeling, AI Inferencing, and High-Performance Computing. This system is compatible with 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors and supports 16x DIMM slots for a total of 32x active DIMM slots with both processors installed. 3x drive bays on the front of the system support 2x 2.5-inch hot-pluggable NVMe bays with one hot-pluggable 2.5-inch SAS3/SATA3 drive bay.

Supermicro SuperBlade 620P-1T3N Server Node

The Supermicro SuperBlade 620P-1C3N is powered by dual sockets compatible with 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. Thermal constraints of this system limit CPUs to a Thermal Design Point (TDP) of up to 270W. However, Intel Xeon Scalable Platinum CPUs with 38x physical cores and 76x virtual threads are still supported on this system.
The front of the server node houses 3x hybrid drive bays. Two of the bays are 2.5-inch hot-swap NVMe drive bays, while the other one is a 2.5-inch hot-swap SAS3/SATA3 drive bay. The system can also be configured with all three bays supporting SAS3/SATA3 drives. SAS drives are supported via a Broadcom 3108 controller. Virtual RAID on CPU is also supported, providing limited RAID options for SSD drive types.
A total of 32x DIMM slots divided between the two CPUs are found on the 620P-1C3N server node. With all the DIMM slots populated with 256GB DDR4 3200MHz Registered DIMMs or Load Reduced DIMMs, this system can hold a little over 8TB of memory. Intel Optane Persistent Memory is also supported on this SuperBlade. Memory speeds available include 3200MHz, 2933Mhz, 2666MHz, and 2400MHz.
The mezzanine slot on the Supermicro 620P-1C3N Server node supports one optional mezzanine card with dual 25GbE ethernet ports. But the main expansion capabilities for this system are handled by the enclosure with up to 4x I/O modules and 2x Chassis Management Modules to access the integrated management module.
Management on the Supermicro 620P-1C3N is provided through the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) 2.0, KVM over LAN, and Virtual Media over LAN. To remotely access your server, the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) grants access through the integrated platform management interface (IPMI) 2.0. A maximum of 2x Chassis Management Modules (CMM) are supported on the supermicro SuperBlade 610J family of enclosures and provide access to the integrated AST2600 management module found on each server node.
The Supermicro SuperBlade 620P-1C3N is dual socket system that populates Supermicro’s SuperBlade Enclosure 610J-822, 610J-622, and 610J-422J family. Up to 10x server nodes can be installed in the 610J enclosures. Intel’s 3rd Generation Xeon Scalable processors are compatible with this SuperBlade with each socket supporting 16x DIMM slots for a total of 32x active slots on the system board. The front of the system holds three drive bays two of which are 2.5-inch hot-pluggable NVMe, and the other is a SAS3/SATA3 bay.
