The Supermicro SuperBlade 620P-1T3N server node is a dual socket system compatible with 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. It was designed to handle Cloud Services, Simulation and Modeling, AI Inferencing, and High-Performance Computing. Supermicro’s SuperBlade enclosures 610J-822, 610J-622, and 610J-422 chassis are the only enclosures that can be populated with the Supermicro 620P-1T3N server nodes. The blade houses 3x hybrid drive bays and up to 8TB of memory.
The front of the system holds the drive bays of this blade which are 3x hybrid 2.5-inch hot-pluggable drives which support NVMe/SATA3 drives. Offering dual socket performance, the Supermicro SuperBlade 620P-1T3N handles compute-intensive tasks such as Cloud Services, Simulation and Modeling, AI Inferencing, and other High-Performance Computing workloads. Compatible with Intel 3rd Generation Xeon Scalable Processors, the system will support a maximum of 8TB of memory.
Supermicro SuperBlade Enclosure 610J-822 Enclosure with 8x hot-pluggable 2200W Titanium power supplies
Supermicro SuperBlade Enclosure 610J-622 Enclosure with 6x hot-pluggable 2200W Titanium power supplies + 2x cooling fans
Supermicro SuperBlade Enclosure 610J-422 Enclosure with 4x hot-pluggable 2200W Titanium power supplies + 4x cooling fans
Dual 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors provide compute for the Supermicro 620P-1T3N server node. Due to the thermal constraints, the system is limited to CPUs with a Thermal Design Point (TDP) of up to 270W. With these constraints, the compatible Platinum Intel Xeon Scalable Processors include up to 38x physical cores and 76x virtual threads.
The front of the system holds 3x hybrid drive bays which support 2.5-inch hot-pluggable NVMe/SAS3/SATA3 drives. There are two basic configurations, 2x NVMe plus one SAS3/SATA3 drive or SAS3/SATA3 drives in all 3x storage bays. Virtual RAID on CPU (vROC) is also supported, which provides limited RAID options for SSD drives.
A total of 32x DIMM slots are split between the two CPUs on this SuperBlade. With all slots populated with 256GB DDR4 3200MHz Registered or Load Reduced DIMMs, this system can hold up to 8TB of memory. In addition, data centric persistent memory modules, also known as Intel Optane Persistent Memory, is supported. Memory speeds on available on the Supermicro SuperBlade 620P-1T3N server include the previously mentioned 3200MHz, along with 2933MHz, 2666MHz, and 2400MHz.
Dual 25GbE ethernet ports are supported through the optional mezzanine card which is installed onto the mezzanine slot on the back of the motherboard. For more expansion capabilities, the enclosure that houses the SuperBlade 620P-1T3N comes with 4x I/O modules and 2x Chassis Management Modules.
Management of the Supermicro SuperBlade 620P-1T3N is provided through the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) 2.0, KVM over LAN, and Virtual Media over LAN. Remote access to the server is granted through the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC). The system is compatible with IPMI 2.0 and Redfish.
The Supermicro SuperBlade 620P-1T3N can house up to 2x 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors on the system board. Up to 10x of these server nodes can be installed in the Supermicro’s SuperBlade Enclosure 610J-822, 610J-622, and 610J-422 chassis. At capacity the system will support up to 8TB of memory to support a number of high-performance computing applications. The front of the system features hybrid storage options using NVMe, SAS, and SATA3 drive formats.
