Supporting four individual blades in a 2U chassis the Supermicro SuperServer 2028TP-HTTR chassis supports the storage, cooling, and power, while the individual blades provide the compute, memory, and network interface. Each node is hot-pluggable and supports dual Intel Xeon Scalable E5-2600 v4 and v3 family processors with up to 16 DIMM slots.
Outfitted with up to 24x 2.5-inch SATA drives, the Supermicro SuperServer 2028TP-HTTR allocates up to 6x hot-swap drives to each server sled. Each node features Intel’s C612 chipset and up to 16x memory module slots supported by dual Intel Xeon Scalable E5-2600 v3 or v4 processors for a maximum capacity of 2TB. This is a dense system that can support up to 8x CPUs in a 2U space with each server sled supporting a different workload.

2x Intel Xeon E5-2600 v4/v3, 16x DIMMs, 6x 2.5” drives, 2x 1G
Supermicro SuperServer 2028TP-HTTR
2x Intel Xeon E5-2600 v4/v3, 16x DIMMs, 6x 2.5” drives, 2x 10G
Each of the 4x server sleds supports 2x Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 or v4 processors using Intel’s c612 chipset. All server sleds are hot-swappable. Powering the system are two redundant 2000W titanium or platinum level power supplies. The systems can also be configured with just a single processor, but will only support half the memory allocation.
Each processor delivers 4x memory channels and is allocated 8x memory module slots for a total of 16x active memory modules with both processors installed. 3DS load reduced (LRDIMM) memory modules and ECC registered (RDIMM)memory modules are supported with LRDIMM modules providing the highest capacity at up to 2TB with all slots loaded with 128GB memory modules. For maximum memory performance and throughput, only a single memory module should be installed in each memory channel. Depending on configuration, CPU, and memory modules used, system memory can operate at up to 2400MHz.
All storage is found on the front of the Supermicro 2028TP-HTTR in 24x drive bays. Supported storage mediums include SATA at 6Gb/s and SAS at 12Gb/s, but SAS drives will require a discrete storage controller, while SATA drives are supported natively with 6x SATA3 ports on the system board. A single Disk on Module (DOM) is supported on each of the 4x server sleds providing an alternate host for the OS or a hypervisor, preserving your up-front storage.
For full access to the single PCIe x16 low-profile slot and slot “0” requires both processors. For optimal performance a number of networking add on cards (AOC) are available delivering access speeds including 1GbE and 10GbE up to 100GbE using QSFP network cables.
Management of the system is via the AST2400 base management controller (BMC) through a dedicated RJ45 integrated platform management interface (IPMI) LAN port. The IPMI offers Redfish support and KVM features.
For support of diverse workloads in the same chassis, the Supermicro SuperServer 2028TP-HTTR delivers with four separate dual socket server nodes in a single 2U chassis. With 24x drive bays up front the system allocates 6x drives for each of the f4x server nodes all of which can be managed remotely or at-chassis using the integrated platform management interface. This server is ideal for enterprise businesses, cloud or data center deployments.
