Both Gen 1 and Gen 2 Intel Xeon Scalable processors are supported including those that feature an integrated x8 OmniPath fabric connector. With Intel Xeon Scalable processors, users can achieve up to 3TB of memory and the highest compute acceleration which is capable of running 448 threads simultaneously with all eight GPUs installed. The eight Nvidia GPU cards are evenly split between the pair of processors. A set of four PLX PEX8747 PCIe switch modules split the PCIe lanes to provide the connectivity for up to five x16 PCIe Gen3 slots per processor.
14x front storage bays support up to 10x SATA devices and up to 4x NVMe U.2 drives with a M2093 NVMe Retimer card installed in one of the PCIe slots. Other FT77DB7109 chassis support a variety of storage options.
The Tyan FT77DB7109 B7109F77DV14HR-2T-NF supports up to 24 DDR4 memory slots with 12 slots allocated to each processor and two modules per memory channel. Using registered (RDIMM) memory modules will provide the least total capacity at 768GB. Load-reduced memory modules will provide up to 1.5TB. 3DS registered or 3DS load-reduced memory modules will support the maximum memory capacity.
Up to 8x high-performance Nvidia Tesla or Quadro GPUs can be installed in this system. There are 8 PCIe Gen3 x16 slots alongside a x16 Tyan Riser card and a x8 Tyan Mezzanine card for an optional Tyan OCP I/O card. The Thunder HX can support top of the line GPUs such as the NVIDIA Tesla M10 which has 32GB of GPU memory and 225W of power.
Management on the Tyan Thunder HX FT77DB7109 / B7109F77DV14HR-2T-NF is handled by an integrated Aspeed AST2500 with Redfish support, which provides local and remote access to the system. Easy management of the system ensures your server is running at peak performance.
The Tyan Thunder HX FT77DB7109 B7109F77DV14HR-2T-NF server provides reliable and consistent performance with dual processors, up to 3TB of memory, plus top of the line GPUs, and support for U.2 NVMe drives. It’s the perfect server to tackle cryptography, oil and gas exploration, cryptocurrency mining, and an abundance of high-performance computing workloads.
