Description

This is just one of the FT77DB7109 chassis configurations, which features a 4U chassis with support for dual processors, up to 8 high-performance GPUs, and up to 3TB of memory. This chassis family is designed for applications with ridiculously parallel workloads. Performance

One or two of Intel’s first or second-generation Xeon Scalable CPUs up to 205W, can be installed on the Tyan FT77DB7109 B7109F77DV14HR-8X-2T-F server. Both generations support six memory channels and a total of 24 memory module slots. However, Gen 2 processors off a higher memory capacity and greater memory speed.

Storage

There are 14 hot-swap SATA bays. NVMe U.2 drives are supported on other FT77DB7109 chassis configurations, see above. Another PCIe card can be installed for SAS drive support. SATA drives can be RAIDed using intel Rapid Storage Technology enterprise (RSTe) with RAID configurations of 0, 1, 5 or 10.

Memory

Each processor supports 12x memory modules for a total of 24 memory modules and up to 3TB with dual processors installed. Memory capacities are dependent on the processor, memory speed, and in some cases memory configuration. Memory speed for Gen 1 scalable processors maxes out at 2666MHz, with the Gen 2 Xeon Scalable processors supporting memory speeds of up to 2933MHz.

Expansion

8x PCIe Gen3 slots support up to 8x Nvidia Tesla GPUs. Two more slots are dedicated for a PCIe Gen3 x8 storage mezzanine card and a PCIe Gen3 x8 LAN mezzanine card.

Management

The Onboard Aspeed AST2500 chipset provides server management solutions with an Intelligent Platform Management Interface 2.0 (IPMI). One of the RJ-45 ports provides access to the IPMI module for remote and at chassis management of the system. A bank of LED lights on the front of the system indicate the health of the server, and include LAN port and storage status.
