With support for up to eight high-performance GPUs the Tyan Thunder HX FT77DB7109 B7109F77DV4HR-8X-2T-F server is ideal for HPC applications, machine learning, and financial analysis There are several different chassis configurations to choose from in the FT77DB7109 family, several offer more and faster storage options including NVMe U.2 drives. This particular configuration supports only four 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch storage devices, vertically in hot-swap storage bays accessible from the top of the system.

Performance

You can install one or two Intel Xeon Scalable processors, including the new Gen 2 Scalable Xeon processors up to 205W. The system will also accommodate up to eight high-performance GPU computational accelerators with four PLX PEX8747 switches to control data flow from up to eight PCIe Gen3 x16 slots each of which can support a full-length, full-height, double-width graphics card. Power is provided with 2+1 redundancy using either 2000W or 3200W PSUs. The latter requires 200-240Vac input.

Storage

Storage on the Tyan FT77DB7109 B7109F77DV4HR-8X-2T-F Server is limited to either four 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SATA drives or a combination of the two. Other options based on this chassis support other storage protocols including SAS and NVMe.

Memory

Memory supported on this system includes Registered, Load-Reduced, and 3DS Registered and Load-Reduced memory modules. Memory speed is dependent on processors with the Intel Scalable processors supporting memory speeds of up to 2666MHz and Gen2 Intel Xeon Scalable processors supporting a top speed of 2933MHz. 3Ds memory modules provide the highest capacity at up to 3TB.

Expansion

Four PLX PEX8747 split the 96 PCIe lanes available to accommodate up to eight full-height-full-width, double-wide GPU accelerators in eight PCIe 3.0 x16 slots. There is also another x16 slot available for a high-performance network card to support the blazing fast performance.

Management

The Onboard Base Management Controller is supported by the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI). A dedicated RJ-45 port on the back of the Tyan FT77DB7109 B7109F77DV4HR-8X-2T-F Server grants the system administrator direct access for both local and remote management.
