The Tyan Transport SX TN70AB8026 B8026T70AV8E16HR is a 2U, NVMe dominant storage server with a single AMD EPYC processor. The system is equipped with 24 drives and 16x memory module slots running at speeds of up to 2666MHz, depending on the AMD processor series used. To manage the server, there is a dedicated IPMI port on the back of the chassis.
The single-socket, 2U Tyan system accommodates an AMD EPYC processor from either the first- or second-generation. The Tyan Transport SX TN70AB8026 B8026T70AV8E16HR server also supports up to 24x 2.5-inch drives bays including up to 16x NVMe drives for use as a storage server. It can be configured with up to 1,024GB of memory when all 16x memory module slots are populated.

The middle of the chassis accommodates a single AMD EPYC processor from either the 7001 or 7002 series. With support for 2nd generation AMD EPYC series processors, this platform is still limited to 32 cores with up to 64 threads, and a thermal design power (TDP) wattage of 180W. It also supports up to 16x DDR4 memory module slots. Two 770W PSUs power the system providing 1+1 redundancy and 80 plus Platinum efficiency.
The sole AMD EPYC processor utilizes 16x DDR4 ECC memory module slots yielding a maximum memory configuration of 1,024GB. Depending on the processor series that is installed, memory speeds can differ from 2400MHz to 2666MHz. The server can be configured to support registered (RDIMM) or load-reduced (LRDIMM) memory modules, but only RDIMMs are supported when AMD EPYC 7002 series CPUs are deployed in all configurations.
The front of the Tyan B8026T70AV8E16HR server is populated with 24x 2.5-inch hot-swap drive bays, including 16x NVMe U.2 and 8x SATA drive bays. In addition to the drive bays lining the front panel, there are two more 2.5-inch fixed SATA drives with support for 6Gb/s connectivity. Support of SAS drives require a discrete SAS HBA/RAID adapter. With AMD EPYC 7002 series processors deployed in all configurations, 2x onboard NVMe M.2 drives are supported.
Towards the back of the server there are two pre-installed riser cards to support PCI-Express Gen3 expansion cards. One supports a single PCI-E Gen3 x16 plus two PCI-E Gen3 x8 slots. Another supports one PCI-E Gen3 x16 and two PCI-E Gen3 x8 slots. An OCP v2.0 LAN mezzanine, in addition to the PCIe slots, offers high-speed network capability, with support for either x8 or x16 network cards and speeds up to 100 Gigabit Ethernet.
To manage the system, there is a dedicated IPMI 2.0 port on the back of the chassis that allows administrators to remotely manage the server. Remote AST2500 iKVM features are included and offer support over IP and remote platform flash, as well as USB 2.0 virtual hub. Other management options include Redfish API to add security and increase productivity.
