Outfitted with the 3rd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, the Gigabyte G292-2G0 GPU server offers up to 40 physical cores and 80 virtual threads per CPU. Faster PCIe 4.0 is also available on this system, which can also support up to 16x single slot GPUs and up to 6TB of memory in a 2U chassis.
Dual 2200W 80PLUS Platinum redundant hot-swap PSUs power up to 16 single-slot GPU cards. Two more PCIe slots on the back of the Gigabyte G292-2G0 GPU server can be outfitted with high-performance I/O modules or a controller to support SAS drives in the front storage bays. SATA and NVMe drives are also supported. With dual Intel Xeon Scalable processors and up to 6TB of memory, this platform is an excellent choice for visual computing applications, AI, AI training, AI inference and a number of high-performance computing applications.
Gigabyte G292-Z45 GPU Server
2x AMD EPYC 7002/7003, 8x PCIe 4.0, 2x PCIe 4.0, 4TB mem., 8x SAS/SATA
This dual-socket platform will support one or two Intel Xeon Scalable processors from the Platinum, Gold or Silver series, with a configurable thermal design point (cTDP) of up to 270W. Only Platinum processors support the highest core count with Gold CPUs providing up to 32 cores, and Silver only up to 20 cores per CPU.
Offering 8x memory channels per CPU, each CPU is in charge of 12 memory module slots, for up to 24 active memory module slots with both processors installed. In addition to more cores per processor, this platform will now support more memory at up to 6TB. Registered (RDIMM) and load-reduced (LRDIMM) memory modules, will provide up to 1.5TB and 3TB of memory respectively. 3DS RDIMM or LRDIMM memory modules will provide the highest capacity at up to 6TB of memory. Depending on configuration and memory speeds supported by the CPU and memory modules, memory speeds of 3200/2933/2666 MHz are supported.
There are 8x storage bays lining the front of the system with a hybrid backplane. Drive bays with the blue release tabs support SAS or SATA drive types, while the green tabs on the drive trays indicate support for Gen4 NVMe U.2 drives, but these bays can also be filled with SAS or SATA drives. For SAS drives, a discrete HD/RAID controller is required. Virtual RAID on CPU, or vROC, is supported offering limited RAID functionality for SSDs with a vROC key.
Intel’s “Ice Lake” family of Xeon Scalable processors deliver faster PCIe 4.0 lanes, and more of them at 64 compared with only 48 PCIe 3.0 lanes using previous generation Intel Scalable processors. 16x PCIe 4.0 x16 lanes provide support for up to 16x single wide GPU accelerators from AMD, Nvidia, Xilinx or Qualcomm. Two more x16 PCIe 4.0 slots at the back of the G292-2G0 server can be used to support additional high-speed network controllers or to manage or provide more control over your storage with a discrete SAS HD/RAID controller.
A dedicated RJ45 management port on the back of the system provides access to the ASPEED AST2600 baseboard management controller for remote management of the system. The system is also Redfish and integrated platform management interface (IPMI) 2.0 compatible. Gigabyte also offers their proprietary Gigabyte Management Console free of charge for remote management of the system.
Featuring dual Intel Xeon Scalable processors in a 2U chassis, the Gigabyte G292-2G0 GPU server also supports hybrid storage, up to 6TB of memory, and 16x single slot GPU accelerators. This is a powerful GPU server designed to support a number of high-performance computing applications or distributed environments.
