With support for up to 8x GPUs, the Gigabyte G292-Z20 GPU server can deliver powerful performance for AI, AI Training, AI Inference, and high-performance computing applications. It supports a single AMD EPYC 7003 series processor, plus up to 2TB of memory and expansion slots for up to 8x GPUs in a 2U chassis.
The Gigabyte G292-Z20 GPU server uses up to 8x full-height, full-width GPUs for enhanced compute and graphics support for applications in AI, AI training and inference. With a single AMD EPYC processor supporting up to 2TB of memory, this system is also a great fit for high-performance computing workloads. Power is supplied by 2+0 2200W 80+ Platinum power supplies and feature Supermicro’s Cold Redundancy, which will reduce power consumption when total system load falls below 40%.
Gigabyte G292-Z45 GPU Server
2x AMD EPYC 7002/7003, 8x PCIe 4.0, 2x PCIe 4.0, 4TB mem., 8x SAS/SATA
The single AMD EPYC 7002/7003 processor supports 128 lanes of PCIe 4.0 and up to 64 cores. Additional compute is provided by up to 8x GPUs. With 8x DDR4-3200 memory channels and only 8 memory module sockets, each memory module occupies a single memory channel for improved bandwidth.
Memory modules supported on this system include registered (RDIMM), load reduced (LRDIMM) memory modules up to 128GB capacity in each slot for up to 1TB of memory. 3DS RDIMM and LRDIMM modules are also supported providing up to 2TB of memory total using 256GB capacity memory modules in all 8x memory module slots.
8x storage bays on the front panel support 8x 2.5-inch HDDs or SSDs. The two far right bays featuring amber drive release tabs support NVMe Gen 3.0 U.2 drives, which the adjacent drive bays with blue drive release tabs support SATA or SAS devices only. If SAS drives are specified, then a discrete SAS card, offering data transfer speeds of up to 12Gb/s is required. Two slots on the system board are dedicated for support of M.2 drives with one PCIe gen. 3.0 x4 slot and one PCIe gen. 3.0 x2 slot.
2x 100Gb/s LAN ports or optional 25Gb/s controller are supported on the G292-Z20 GPU server. Aside from the M.2 slots, which feature a PCIe 3.0 connection bus, the 8x PCIe x16 slots for support of GPUs and the other 2x half-length, low-profile slots are all twice as fast using a PCIe 4.0 bus. A dedicated 1GbE LAN port on the back of the system provides access to the integrated platform management module (IPMI). A dedicated expansion slot for an OCP 3.0 card is also present on the system board and leverages PCIe 4.0 speeds for greater I/O performance. Up to 8x dual slot GPU accelerators from AMD, Nvidia, Xilinx, and Qualcomm are supported.
The dedicated RJ45 management port on the back of the system provides access via the baseboard management controller (BMC) to the integrated ASPEED AST2500 remote management controller. The ASPEED controller provides remote access to the server through a standard browser interface and is integrated platform management interface 2.0 (IPMI) and Redfish API compatible. Gigabyte also offers their proprietary Gigabyte Server Management (GSM) for managing multiple servers. This system is certified for use with SUSE Linux, VMware, and Citrix ecosystems.
AMD’s EPYC 7003 Milan series processors deliver faster communications between CPU and GPU accelerators for high-performance computing and data analytics. With increased I/O throughput to up to 8x full-sized GPUs and accelerators, the Gigabyte G292-Z20 GPU server is a perfect choice for AI training and inference applications.
